    Online Technical Company

If you are in India do you remember all the Maruthi Ads “where ever you go you can find a maruthi service station”… In spite of all that finding a road side mechanic is a common site.

Have you ever thought if it would be good if we have a roadside mechanic for all your system and software related issues. Even if you had are they available 24 hours? Are they capable of handling all the issues? Are they qualified and have right testimonial?

If yes your entire wait is over. Understanding this gap there 6 professionals who have left there high paying jobs from IBM, Slash Support, Wipro, Sutherland and started a service to solve all the Technical issues over phone, email and chat.

They ran a beta run for 3 months and got tremendous support and applause for this type of service, thought it is not something unique, they say they were not aware of their competitors when they first discussed about this idea. Also they claim that there is different and unique. It is Pay-per-click model where customers pay only if the issues are solved.

When I questioned them what happens if the client runs away after solving the issue, they claim always clients are very supportive and they in fact reward them by paying a premium than their fee to motivate this service…

Only flaw side of this service is it is only available for US if you want a support over phone & not for other part of their, on contacting their CTO Mr.Bala, he claims people still call to their US no. though it expensive & they are also planning to launch there service to different English speaking nations.

I personally contacted them for frequent internet disconnection issue over char and to my surprise it was sorted in 20 min over chat. All I had to do was to trust them and install remote access software and give access to my system. Also I utilized there free trial run during there beta run.

As a gratitude I think I must write a word of appreciation and pass a message about their service with all my readers and this is definitely a mutually beneficial post…

Sonata for A Good Writer – To MM, with recommendation

I’d like to dedicate this blog to my first cousin Madhumitha, she is doing her graduation but she has lot is oratorical and narration skills. She has helped me to do my MBA assignments even when she was in her school. I don’t mean to say her whiz kid, but she has an odd one out in our family, I often wondered if she originally hails our genes ;).

She is an avid reader of books and we have often shared our thoughts on the books we read. In my busy schedule I asked her to read books and share the crux with me, which she promptly does.

Having seen her narration in writing I’ve asked her to take up writing as a career and also made arrangements for her to pursue that. But she has not taken those thoughts seriously. I’m happy that she at least took my words and started blogging and let this be a good start for her and I wish her to be a successful writer.

I’m one of her early fan for her writing and I’d like to share one of the blog she has written and would like you to look into the narration and pass on your comments.

Just look into this blog http://madhumithauday.blogspot.com/2008/10/food-not-just-concept.html

If there are any passers to this blog, just let me know how to groom a “raw talented writer” into a professional writer.

    Rule of 72

Most commonly used term in the financial circle. “Rule of 72” will help determine when an investment will get doubled. It is based on a simple formulae 72/interest = no. of years to double an investment.

Let us assume you have invested Rs.10000 in a mutual fund which fetches 20% returns. With the 20% return we can determine how long it will take to double the investment of Rs.10000. Now let us work out the formulae

    72/20 = 3.6 years.

So we need 3.6 years for Rs.10000 to get doubled.

A perfect gentleman with a postive outlook on life

From World over, he received letters from his fans, one of which Conveyed:

“Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease”?

To this Arthur Ashe replied: The world over — 50 million children start playing sports, 5 million learn to play tennis, 500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5,000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals. And when I was holding a cup I never asked GOD “Why me?” And today in pain I should not be asking GOD “Why me?”

Ten things to learn from Jepan

    1. THE CALM
Not a single visual of chest-beating or wild grief. Sorrow itself has been elevated.

    2. THE DIGNITY
Disciplined queues for water and groceries. Not a rough word or a crude gesture.

    3. THE ABILITY
The incredible architects, for instance. Buildings swayed but didn’t fall.

    4. THE GRACE
People bought only what they needed for the present, so everybody could get something.

    5. THE ORDER
No looting in shops. No honking and no overtaking on the roads. Just understanding.

    6. THE SACRIFICE
Fifty workers stayed back to pump sea water in the N-reactors. How will they ever be repaid?

    7. THE
TENDERNESS Restaurants cut prices. An unguarded ATM is left alone. The strong cared for the weak.

    8. THE TRAINING
The old and the children, everyone knew exactly what to do. And they did just that.

    9. THE MEDIA
They showed magnificent restraint in the bulletins. No silly reporters. Only calm reportage.

    10. THE CONSCIENCE
When the power went off in a store, people put things back on the shelves and left quietly.

Things To-Do when you loose your wallet

I went to a drive to Pondicherry & last used my credit card in a Petrol Station on Saturday, since I went home very late, I parked my car and went to sleep. On Sunday I stayed at home. So when I started to office on Monday morning I came to know my wallet was missing. After getting upset and irritated in the beginning, I allowed myself to get cool. Then I understood such things are bound to happen in life and we must be prepared for the unexpected. So there is not use in doing a post mortem, so I immediately started doing the damage control. These where the steps which I followed,

1.) First List all the things that were in the wallet & sub classify as important & unimportant
    a. Important
    • 3 Credit Card
    • 3 Debit Card
    • Driving License
    • PAN Card (Important for Indian Income Tax)
    b. Unimportant
    • Important Business Cards
    • Membership Cards
2.) Now after having all the important things in hand break up things which is highly important to act and easy to act
3.) Since Credit/Debit card is more important to protect yourself from misuse, it is important to act on it & fortunately for me these were the things that is easy to act too.
4.) Collect all information to act like,
    a. Phone Banking Numbers of the banks
    b. Relevant details like Card No’s
    c. Where & how-to apply for a PAN
    d. Where are hot to apply for a Driving License
5.) Now call all the banks and cancel the cards and apply for new cards right away.
6.) Now coming to important & not easy things which are Driving License & PAN card. Since it is all related to government involvement the process is not that easy. But let me share the information here on process involved to reapply for lost DL or PAN card
    a. Lost PAN Card – http://www.tin-nsdl.com/faqPANRequestForNew.asp#5
    b. LOST DL – In case of loss, theft, or on mutilation, Duplicate License is issued. The documents to be produced are FIR of the lost license, challan clearance report from RTA Office (in case of Commercial license renewal) and an application in Form LLD. The particulars are verified by the authority from the records. The duplicate license will have the valid period same as the previous license. If the license is lost and expired by more than 6 months it requires permission from Head Quarter of Transport Department.

It is recommended to keep a photocopy of the original license or particulars of license noted in order to make it easier for the issuing authority to locate the particulars from their record.
7.) In both cases in point 6, I must first lodge a police complaint & get a FIR, which I’ve not done, tomorrow I’m rushing to Police Station to file the complaint and get the FIR to get PAN & DL. Will post a separate blog if the process is complicated.
8.) Another stuff I must do is to go shopping and buy a new wallet, for which you don’t have credit cards in hand or debt card to withdraw cash. So try to borrow some cash from parents or friends. Try to get something more considering to get a new wallet, your expenses for 4 – 7 workings days which is what banks takes to process the replacement cards.
