CogzidelHR Beginnings and First Success

After seeing success through Facebook campaign… I immediately thought of creating a FB page and that is when we Launched http://www.facebook.com/cogzidelHR

After the launch our immediate goal was to generate 10000 targeted likes… Yep our target audience were College passouts in and around Madurai…

After a good start and some drop in the middle… Our CTO Mr.Swami (after hearing our FB case study) took up the challenging of doing a walk-in by only doing a FB promo…

Them we started to concentrate on generating likes… We easily generated first 150 likes who were none other than our staff and friends…

We invented lots of conventional and unconventional methods like;

– giving pamphlets to everyone who attends the interview…
– digitilise data of people who attended interview and send them invites…
– ask employees to request their friends to like the page…

With all this aggression we could just reach 500 likes till date…

Nervous Day

Woke up to take my dad for a CT scan and after 2 hours doctor visited and said he immediately needs a surgery…

We were asked to do the arrangements for surgery and that too by evening and we were never given time to take any opinion…

My sister reached the hospital and consultations with my uncle and our family friends doctor started… There was complete nervousness and confusion…

By now couple of relatives who were informed started giving their opinion… I was already disturbed and when I saw tears in my sisters eye I thought it was time to act…

I asked my sister to talk to the doctor on surgery… I took up an appointment with a doctor referred by my doctor uncle… I had to collect the CT scan CD and take it to get the opinion…

After begging and showing my emotional cry I could get the CD from Radiologist with lot of fuss… After getting the CD immediately rushed to doctor and got our second opinion and he too recommended for a surgery…

Already he has undergone 3 major surgeries under last 4 months… It was a tough decision to take… We decided to go with surgery… It was very delicate in handling the doctors… For them it was yet another surgery but for us it is our dad…

By leaving the burden on god and praying him we are done with surgery which is said to be successful…

Now our concern is to pray for our dads recovery… He has already undergone a lot of pain and trauma… I plead all the renders to pray for hiatus quick and full recovery…

Kamal Hassan a real gentleman

When his movie Viswaroopam was running into problem there were lots of fans who have started sending the ticket money as DD to the actor who has invested a fortune…

I didn’t believe in such acts (sending DD) because for a business person risk is a part of life… He should be ready for unexpected and to overcome situational… Also he is not going to refund the money if the movie is not good…

Anyways fans showed there love and support to this deserving actor… I was curious to know if Kamal would encash those monies or now…

When I came to know that Kamal has returned them all… My respect for him has grown multiple…

You are a true gentleman SIR!!!
You are the true UlagaNayagan…

I’m proud to be a generation which grew watching your classics and master pieces…

Hospital a place to stay away

At different stages in my life I wanted to stay away from different places…

– As a kid I hated schools and wanted to stay away from schools…
– When I had to visit a police station for the first time I waned to stay away…
– When I had some legal issues I had to goto courts… This was the last place I hated until now…

I’m almost living in a hospital for last 6 months to take care of my dad… All the above listed places could manage or handled… But a hospital is a place where we see more sorrow and pain of people…

Hospital is a place where emotions plays big part… Lots of strong people would be seen broken… This one place can teach you a million lessons…

Now if you ask me I’d be glad to visit and live in any other places I hate to the core; but definitely not a hospital…

How CogzidelHR FaceBook Page idea came??

During October 2011 when we didn’t have an HR and there were 14 unfilled openings… I was not in Madurai and was thinking of ways to close the openings…

With following initiatives being a failure;
– Head Hunting thru Naukri…
– Posting banners at joints…
– Asking for employee reference…

I thought of creating a blog and they to promote it and get people… I posted a blog and started doing SEO and when I was looking for other alternatives I ran thru the idea of promoting thru Facebook…

I posted Job Opening job link on my Facebook timeline and asked all my Madurai friends and all cogzians to share it in their timeline…

We got around 200+ likes in a day and we got more than 200 people coming for interview in a single day…

We closed all 14 openings… It was then I thought of having a page for HR which could used as a tool to hunt talent…

That is when http://www.facebook.com/cogzidelHR was born…

Travelled seeking Divine Help

My uncle called up yesterday asking me to visit our Kula Deivam (Family God) temple and pray for dads quick recovery… Immediately planed the travel and I also thought of visiting Vaitheeswaran Kovil too which is some 20KM from our native Chidambaram…

Day before travel was very hectic, slept late and had to wake up early to pick my wife… My mom wanted me to start by 6AM but we started our drive by 7.30…

Originally planned to going to Kula Deivam temple by 10.30 AM finish the darshan by 11 AM and the goto Vaitheeswaran Kovil by noon finish POOJA there and return back to Chennai by 1 o clock…

But we couldn’t go as per our plan as we were able to reach china bharar only by 11.45 for unexpected delays and we altered red the plan…

– Stopped at Porur Jalagandesswar templa to get assorted flowers… Got only rose…
– Stopped at Guduvancherry to get assorted flowers…
– Filled petrol at MaraiMalai Nagar…
– There was a small commotion at Dhindivanam toll and will blog separately about it…
– Travelled thru Vikravandi, Panrutti, Neyveli, Vadalur and Bhuvanagiri… Roads were bad with lots of potholes…
– It was 12 and we went to Vaitheeswaran Kovil as it will b closed by 1 PM and temple will be opened only by 6 PM…
– Reached Vaitheeswaran Kovil by 12.30PM and we finished doing archanai for 5 main gods…
– Finished our lunch with temple prasadams Coriander Rice, Sugar Pongal and Curd Rice with some Murukku…
– Immediately proceeded to Kula Deivam temple…
– Reached temple by 2.30 PM and had good darshan…
– Enjoyed the beauty of our village, the breeze and the harvest…
– Started to drive back to Chennai…

Overall had good darahans, prayed for my dad and Spent to spend some time for my wife….

Also must thank my wife who travelled non-stop for 20 hours, for giving company, giving moral support and finally for the Badam milk she sponsored….

One memorable year for our CTO

Yesterday(31/01/2013) it was a day to remember for two reasons… First it happens to be my dads birthday and second our COGZIDEL CTO Sam alies Mr.SwamiNathan completes his first year…

It all looks as if it happened yesterday…. After a month long meetings with coffees Sam reported to service surprisingly… Yes I call it a surprise because he asked for a year to complete his notice….

If he stood by his word he must have reported only yesterday….

I think he must have got his dream run in this year… We planned a lot of things and visions like;

– Make it a 250 members company in a year…
– Strengthen our products portfolio…
– Build a Business Analyst team…
– Strengthen the cold-calling team…
– Add a service line called Testing…
– Implement measurable process…

Those were core agenda for first year… We started with a bang and start looked good… But to our surprise there were lots of undercurrents, myths, resistance and acceptance for change… Infact we haven’t accomplished any of the above listed things….

But we had a great run as we complimented each other, we broke myths, overcame criticism, shared grievances, lived a life of poor, walked long, we learned to unlearned and we did a lot….

Inspite of all odds we ran with hope and energy… Finally there started the light at the end of the tunnel… We started taking control over the situation and slowly we are able to implement things which we wanted to implement last year…

Overall it was enjoyable year and I wish and thank Swami for all the support…. I wish him good luck for the years to come….
