An Argument of Ideology

India is a Land of diverse cultures based on Religion & Linguist… Though my Ideology favors my religion I look at the greater interest of my country… I’m not in favor of suppressing any religion nor be suppressed… But I was surprised to see someone in my age group who was Ideologically connected to my mother tongue…

Though he was cool & composed in argument unlike me… He was very strong in his belief… He has put his country behind his ideology… Though I was disturbed by that attitude it gave me more insights about effects of polarization done by some fringe elements…

Being a Tamalian I just pitied the case of Sri Lankan tamils and I assumed that was a micro affair because the loss of LTTE disn’t create a big impact on us… Also I was happy that there was no big issue created by Muslims when the Babri verdict was given…

I thought we have become mature as a country in spite of differences we have… But when someone close to me who wants to Leave this country because it is not doing anything to his men… He went to the fact telling he was willing to be a 3rd rated citizen in a foreign country than here…

His concerns are;

  • North Indians ignore death of fisherman by Sri Lankan navy because they are tamils.
  • Lots of Sri Lankan tamils are still tortured.
  • Lanka is in the verge of ethnic cleansing.

My only answer is I was never been treated like a 2nd class citizen by this country… Our home minister is a Tamilian… Infact for more than 2 decade Tamil Nadu had major chunk of portfolio in the Central Governments… Sri Lankan issue or Tamil Fisherman issue is not handled well must be accepted… But we must remember we have greater say in the central cabinet(DMK)… So, the truth is fellow are corrupt and they are not working for the cause of our brothers… If we ourselves ignore the cause of our own people tamilians… It is not reasonable blaming someone who is not linked to us in terms of language…

Though I was not convinced by my friends argument… He was not in a mindset of accept mine either… So, we decided to stop this without any conclusion…

Moral: Changing ones ideology is a difficult task or it is impossible…

Why is Kashmir Burning??

Last couple of months we wake up reading about violence in the Valley. Not sure how many of you would be aware of why this problem is burning. For those Ignorant people let me give you some reality of the history.

During the time of Independance India was divided into 3 set of territories;

  1. British India ruled by British.
  2. Princely States (Small Countries ruled by Kings by supporting British)
  3. India Ruled by French & Portugese

Post Independence Sardar Vallabhai Patil wanted to make all those princely states, french & portugese colonies as a part of India to avoid future conflicts. Most of the princely states were integrated peacefully except;

  • State of Jodhpur
  • State of Junagarh
  • State of Hydrabad
  • State of Kashmir

The first three states were annexed by war & hostile take over by people. But the choice of Integrating Kashmit was given to Nehru which he handled miserably.

That is what is making the difference till date. All other states have accepted India as their country and call themselves as Indians unlike Kashmiries. So what is

Kashmir problem?

At the time of the transfer of power, Kashmir was ruled by Maharaja Hari Singh, a Hindu, although the state itself had a Muslim majority. Hari Singh was equally hesitant about acceding to either India or Pakistan, as either would have provoked adverse reactions in parts of his kingdom. He signed a Standstill Agreement with Pakistan and proposed one with India as well, but announced that Kashmir intended to remain independent. However, his rule was opposed by Sheikh Abdullah, the popular leader of Kashmir’s largest political party, the National Conference, who demanded his abdication.

Pakistan, attempting to force the issue of Kashmir’s accession, cut off supplies and transport links. The chaos in Punjab resulting from Partition had also severed transport links with India, meaning that Kashmir’s only links with the two dominions was by air. Rumours about atrocities against the Muslim population of Poonch by the Maharajah’s forces caused the outbreak of civil unrest. Shortly thereafter, Pathan tribesmen from the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan crossed the border and entered Kashmir. The invaders made rapid progress towards Srinagar. The Maharaja of Kashmir wrote to India, asking for military assistance, offering an Instrument of Accession, and setting up an interim government headed by Sheikh Abdullah. The accession was accepted, but Nehru declared that it would have to be confirmed by a plebiscite, although there was no legal requirement to seek such confirmation.

Indian troops secured Jammu, Srinagar and the valley itself during the First Kashmir War, but the intense fighting flagged with the onset of winter, which made much of the state impassable. Prime Minister Nehru, in a move that baffled political and military strategists, declared a ceasefire and sought U.N. arbitration, arguing that India would otherwise have to invade Pakistan itself, in view of its failure to stop the tribal incursions. The plebiscite was never held, and on 26 January 1950, the Constitution of India came into force in Kashmir, but with special provisions made for it in the Constitution’s Article 370. India did not, however, secure administrative control over all of Kashmir. The Ladakh northern and western portions of Kashmir came under Pakistan’s control in 1947, and are today referred to as ‘Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir’ by the Indian government. In the 1962 Sino-Indian War, China occupied Aksai Chin, the north-eastern region bordering , which it continues to control and administer.

So what do they Kashmiris want?

There are three set of demands.

  • First is the National Conference version which wants autonomy plus pre-1953 status. If it is translated in simple language, they want a separate constitution, separate prime minister, separate supreme court and separate election commission. They don’t want the jurisdiction of India’s Supreme Court and Election Commission to be extended to the state.
  • Second, the Peoples Democratic Party wants self-rule. The PDP wants to go beyond the National Conference. They want so much autonomy that it’s just short of independence. They even seek applicability of dual currency in the Valley.
  • The third group is the separatists who talk of azaadi (FREEDOM).

Because of great blunder of done by Nehru we are paying the price till date. Would would have been different if Iron Man Patel was Iron fist with Nehru and annexed J & K.

But what every happens as an Indian I can’t accept an India without Kashmir. I support any action by the Government of India that helps in full Integration of J & K into India.

Bid Aideu Murali

I remember it was 1994 (I was 14 years then)and i went to visit my uncle in Trichy. Since my uncle was busy he left me in one of our family friends house & asked his friends son to take me for a game of cricket with him. That new friend of mine told me they will play cricket only by evening and he said we can watch India vs Sri Lanka test match.

Those days Sri Lanka were underdogs & I was not interested to watch the match because it was a test match and second it is a Indo Sri Lanka Match. But had to watch it as I didn’t have a choice. That is when i came to know through that new friend that there was a lone Tamalian in the team and that was Muralidharan. That is when i came to know this legendary guy. I didn’t know then that this guy is going to create records in his career. Though I supported India & admired Sachin I was happy to watch this guy bowl when this guy bowls.

Then whenever I see Sri Lankan scorecard (they use to loose most of the matches then) I see for Murali’s bowling figures only. But this team went on to become a great success during 1996 world cup and contribution of Murali in bowling was phenomenal along with Vaas & Wikramasinghe and batting was taken care by Jeya Surya, Ranatunga, Aravinda De Silva, Mahanama & Tillakratne. He was one of the core member of the best team Sri Lanka has ever produced till date.

From then the guy whom i admired has become the guy I mostly hated as Sri Lanka started winning matches & Murali would be one of the striking force for the victory. But I think India in the one of the team which has hammered him a lot. But his 100 wickets haul can show he was a success against India. Many times i supported the decision of banning him for chucking not because of logic but because I wanted to get rid off matches against India.

Second thing I got upset was him getting married to Madhu Malar daughter of Malar hospitals and I felt like i lost a fortune & a beauty :(. Still i envy him for that.

Today again he is one of the reason for India’s loss. But we must accept that this guy is a genius cricketer. It is not a joke for someone to be leading wicket taker in both ODI & in Test matches.

When I saw his farewell I instantly remembered the day when I first came to know about him & how he has changed the fortunes of a small island nation & his own image.

At this moment I would Thank him for entertaining us for all these years…

IBCD Generation

We all have heard about ABCD (American Born Confused Desis)… But offlate I see a lot of IBCD (Indian Born Confused Desis) including me. Yep i think we are in a generation where we are caught between Indian family values and the western culture which is getting embedded into our lifestyle.

Discos, Pub-culture, Private Parties, Western wear, Group outings et more have all started to become of lifestyle in this decade. Youths of this generation have been exposed to this new found entertainment and this has made them totally confused in balancing their new generation lifestyle with the indian family lifestyle.

This has posted a new challenge to this new generation when it comes to finding their match. This NG has been blessed with the opportunity to network, get acquainted, develop friendship, extend it to LOVE. But here comes the problem;

  • First they have too much options as they meet more people and they endup meeting a couple of people sharing common thoughts or people whom they have longed to form a relationship.
  • Second is to align their romantic life with the Family culture.

Most of my friends lack a lot of clarity while deciding their limits. They end up quarreling while deciding to draw their boundaries. Because of availability of options to form new relationships they end up breaking for small & silly quarrels. This has left a lot of people having strained relationship and made them a confused folk who are very poor in making decision.

One main reason for all this is because of getting raised in a Value System and suddenly jumping into a lifestyle which we were always told is not good or not a part of our life style. It is high time that our education system takes note of this new problem among Indian youth and start addressing the issue. Also there must be awareness programs / camps on the subject.

Until then I don’t see any respite as we are getting more western with our SKIN & stay Indian with our flesh. So, the sad part is when we peel the skin it pains, of we remove the flesh we die.

So we are all living a life by peeling our skin and accepting the trauma of pain to avoid death.

Why Indians are re-born?

The angel Gabriel came to the Lord and said “I have to talk to you. We have some Indians up here in heaven and they are causing problems. They’re swinging on the pearly gates, my horn is missing, they are wearing Dolce and Gabbana saris instead of their white robes, they are riding Mercedes and BMW’s instead of the chariots, and they’re selling their halos to people for discounted prices. They refuse to keep the stairway to Heaven clear, since they keep crouching down midway eating samosas and drinking chai (tea). Some of them are even walking around with just one wing!”

The Lord said, “Indians are Indians. Heaven is home to all my children. If you want to know about real problems, give Satan a call.”

Satan answered the phone, “Hello? Damn, hold on a minute.” Satan returned to the phone, “OK I’m back. What can I do for you?”

Gabriel replied, “I just wanted to know what kind of problems you’re having down there.”

Satan says, “Hold on again. I need to check on something.”

After about 5 minutes Satan returns to the phone and said, “I’m back. Now what was the question?”

Gabriel said, “What kind of problems are you having down there?”

Satan says, “Man I don’t believe this .. Hold on.”

This time Satan was gone at least 15 minutes. He returned and said, “I’m sorry Gabriel, I can’t talk right now.. These Indians are trying to install air conditioning and making hell a comfortable place to live in by putting out the fire..fire is there to keep them uncomfortably hot!! Since they are so tech savvy, they were trying to start a telephone connection between heaven and hell..I am having such a hard time controlling and dealing with them!! Some were trying to start a chai – pakora shop, which I had to stop..I am requesting Lord to send them back on earth as soon as they arrive as re-birth”.
(Indians will be Indians..)
So this is the story why Indians are re-born!!!

Difference between Dual listing & ADR

What is Dual Listing?

Dual Listing means listing of shared of merged entity in Stock market of two countries. In Bharti – MTN case if the deal would have gone through they would be listed in Indian Stock Market & South African Stock market as separate legal identities with a common management.

What is ADR?

ADR stands for American Depositary Receipt where in a US bank buys Shares of a company in lots and trades them in US Stock Exchange. A buyer can convert ADR’s into shares and trade it within US bourses.

Indian Money with SWISS Bank

Latest update after Swiss Bank has agreed to disclose the funds…

Our Indians’ Money – 70, 00,000 Crores Rupees In Swiss Bank

1) Yes, 70 lakhs crores rupees of India are lying in Switzerland banks. This is the highest amount lying outside any country, from amongst 180 countries of the world, as if India is the champion of Black Money.

2) German Government has officially written to Indian Government that they (German Government) are willing to inform the details of holders of 70 lakh crore rupees in their Banks, if Indian Government officially asks them.

3) On 22-5-08, this news has already been published in The Times of India and other Newspapers based on German Government’s official letter to Indian Government.

4) But the Indian Government has not sent any official enquiry to Germany for details of money which has been sent outside India between 1947 to 2008.. The opposition party is also equally not interested in doing so because most of the amount is owned by politicians and it is every Indian’s money.

5) This money belongs to our country. From these funds we can repay 13 times of our country’s foreign debt. The interest alone can take care of the Center’s yearly budget. People need not pay any taxes and we can pay Rs. 1 lakh to each of 45 crore poor families.

6) Let us imagine, if Swiss Bank is holding Rs. 70 lakh crores, then how much money is lying in other 69 Banks? How much they have deprived the Indian people? Just think, if the Account holder dies, the bank becomes the owner of the funds in his account.

7) Are these people totally ignorant about the philosophy of Karma? What will this ill-gotten wealth do to them and their families when they own/use such money, generated out of corruption and exploitation?

8) Indian people have read and have known about these facts. But the helpless people have neither time nor inclination to do anything in the matter. This is like “a new freedom struggle” and we will have to fight this.

9) This money is the result of our sweat and blood.. The wealth generated and earned after putting in lots of mental and physical efforts by Indian people must be brought back to our country.

10) As a service to our motherland and you contribution to this struggle, please circulate this note amongst your friends and relatives and convert it into a mass movement by email forwards, blogs etc.
