Super Busy Day

It was vacation for last three days and Starting the week after a festival break is not that easy… But my day started by a wake-up call from my HR… She is slogging to close our VP Sales requirement and I know we (Directors) have not supported her… It was a classic case of mismanagement where I committed for interviews & meetings which got colloided…

The day started by missing an interview which Me or Bala was unable to take… But other than that I managed to honor all other commitments… So, these are the things I did for the day;

  • Brief Tele-con with Major Karthik.
  • Meeting with a friend who is into IT-Sales at Subway Nungambakkam by afternoon.
  • Meeting with AISEC representative at Cafe Coffee Day Nungambakkam by evening.
  • Returned to office to interview a candidate for VP Sales.
  • Then there was a Review meeting with CCS Sales Folks, Bala & Myself.
  • A brief meeting with a Banker which was fitted in between.
  • By 9 o clock went to meet KaviRaj.

Over all I was happy that all meeting progressed well and it was over all a productive day.

Always Grab the First Opportunity

A young man wished to marry a farmer’s beautiful daughter. He went to the farmer to ask his permission. The farmer looked at him and said, “Son, go stand out in that field. I’m going to release three bulls, one at a time. If you can catch the tail of any one of the three bulls, you can marry my daughter.”

The young man stood in the field awaiting the first bull. The barn door opened and out came the biggest, meanest looking bull he had ever seen. He decided that one of the next bulls had to be a better choice than this one, so he ran over to the side and let the bull pass through.

The barn door opened again. Unbelievable! He had never seen anything so big and fierce in his life. It stood pawing the ground, it eyed him. Whatever the next bull was like, it had to be a better choice than this one he thought. He ran to the fence and let the bull pass through.

The door opened a third time. A smile came across his face. This was the weakest bull he had ever seen. This one was his bull, he said to himself. As the bull came running by, he positioned himself just right and jumped at just the exact moment. He threw his hands to grab….. But alas….. The bull had no tail.

Moral: Life is full of opportunities. Always grab the first one.

“PROGRESS is IMPOSSIBLE without CHANGE, and those who CANNOT CHANGE their MINDS, CANNOT CHANGE ANYTHING”

What we are missing??? This guy spoke my behavior…

For those who can’t understand Tamil please excuse… I don’t have time to post transcript of this speech in English… I missed this program because I felt festivals are time to rest and enjoy it like we use to do it in our childhood days… I can understand this speech makes sense… But like any other normal man I’m putting it behind and preparing myself to run the rat race for tomorrow…

But there are two things I’ve realized from this guys speech;

  • Firstly I thought myself to be Unique; but just realized that am one among the rat racers.
  • Secondly I’m out of my guilt that I don’t visit relatives, friends, marriages etc. My entire generation is like that.

For those who understand tamil and missed this program during Diwali… Understand the real position of todays youth…

Trip to Varkala

It was a sudden plan to Varkala Beach in Kerala… I didn’t do much research about the place but i brought the point of my friend Laxman who is a planned person and he does his homework before doing something… So, i’m a smart worker & blindly follow my friend and he has never gone wrong…

Though we planned at the last moment it was very wavering because of Manoj… But when Laxman decides something he will push people and will make it happen somehow & he convinced Manoj to make it… Then I got a call from Sathish asking if we must make it for sure… I said i’m going to go for it because I hate being wavering & he followed me… Only while boarding the train we came to know that he met with an accident and had scratches all over his body…

Then again there was a setback because the Laxman’s service manager said he can’t deliver the car by evening… So, we decided to go by train… When we went to buy the ticket we were shocked to know that the ticket costs just Rs.110/- per person and we had saved a lot on Petrol, Car Lag etc ;)… But the travel time was double than driving distance because train travelled on a U direction…

Train started 30 minutes behind schedule  & I crashed by 11.30 PM & got up by 8 AM by hearing sweet malayalam speech by cute looking Mallu girls… Train reached Varkala one hour behind schedule & we reached the place by 9 AM…

Then we travelled in an auto-rickshaw & reached out Hotel Hill View… One reaching the spot I’ve no words to tell about the place… It is an hill with Arabian Sea below & what a marvel to ones eyes… We got a Sea facing room & after refreshing we all went to take a Dip on the sea and we had our Lunch…

Again we reached our hotel took a shower & now am blogging… After this we are going for shopping on the sea view shops and  we got an invite from a friend for late night party… Tomorrow will go for an ayurvedic massage & by evening am traveling back to Chennai…

Since there is Wi-Fi in the hotel & because of BlackBerry my work didn’t get affected… So, it is a double delight & enjoyed a lot till now…

Travel To Sivakasi

It was my sister’s Thala Diwali and we had to buy come crackers… It is new because we are not known for bursting out our money on crackers… So, I was discussing about this with my friend Laxman and he immediately got a reference from his friend and we drove to Sivakasi which is 70 KM from Madurai. We started by 2.30PM & It was a pleasant one hour drive on National Highways…

Since Diwali is approaching there it was fully decorated with Crackers Depots of different Brand… We were given choice of brands and we settled for a new brand called Sony… We went to Sony depot and the people out there were very responsive and polite which i’ve never seen with Chennai vendors…

As per my mothers advice I got crackers worth Rs.5500 and we drove back to Madurai by 6 PM… We finished all our shopping in three and half hours and I was happy that my work was not spoiled because of this… Then for my curiosity I went to a cracker shop in Madurai and asked for all the items i got it from Sivakasi… I was thrilled that i got a quote for Rs.11250/- & I’m thrilled that I got good value preposition…

Laughed out HIGH

Madurai means Lots of personal time, Lots of Friends & more importantly it is CHEAP… As per my agenda for Madurai trip I finished all my office work by afternoon & then joined my friends for Lunch & an hour of casual talk in my friends fruit shop… To our surprise two gorgeous girls approached us asking for the owner… They were from RedBull to market the product and they were from Bangalore… One can imagine how Madurai folks would have reacted;

  • Eyeballs of everyone in the vicinity were at the shop(at the girls)…
  • Suddenly a bunch of local boys visited the shop to have a sip of Fresh Juice (infact a close look at the babes)…

We enjoyed the situation and we were mocking at our owner friend and when they left they came back to us and gave us a tin of RedBull.

From there we went to Swimming Pool at Pandian Hotel… It was again rejuvenating experience for eyes as there was a Bikini clad Blonde Girl swimming along with us… We were shouting, pulling down each other, played water volley ball,  started with swimming basics, then did some exercise…

Then like kids we played kicking each other, showed some gymnastics in bike, fought to get bike keys to drive it… Over all I didn’t know how time went… Got relieved from all Stress and now I feel mentally light…

I thank my friends Laxman, Satheesh & Manoj for making my day so pleasant…

Tough Traveling to Madurai

Boarding the bus was very uncertain until the last moment for folling reasons;

  • Was feeling drowsy because of Dolo650…
  • My father was late and he was unable to drop me…
  • There was an unexpected family issue (thanks to my mom for handling it all alone)…

I was not interested to travel to Madurai that day… But I didn’t want my laziness to beat my spirit and I started packing my bags 45 min before the departure of the bus… Boarded an auto 25 Min before the departure of the bus… Reached Bus Depot 5 min before departure & after getting my boarding pass immediately the bus reached the boarding point…

It was a big gamble because I decided to continue with my travel 45 min before departure and if there was any slight delay in any of my task means I’d have missed the bus…

But my real irony started on the bus because there was an old man who had disgusting looks & was stinking badly… Also I was not able to position myself properly on the seat… Within minutes this guy started snoring and that made things worst for me…

But everything happens for a reason & my consumption of Dolo650 for last 3 days made me drowsy and I slept and only got up at Madurai… If I was not sedated that day it would have become too hard for me…

Finally reached Madurai Safely & am back with a bang for the Tight Schedule…

Why do we need close Friends?

For long time I’ve wondered why we need close friends? I’ve thought what i’m missing these days & I got an answer through an SMS forward…

For those honest opinions..!
To pick us from the airport at 2 am..!
To kick us at midnight on our birthday..!
To make fun of our new outfits..!
To get the latest prints of movies..!
To call at 3 am just to say goodnight..!
To listen to us when everyone else is yelling at us..!
To just walk without any reason!
For the endless treats!
To irritate us with missed calls when we are sleeping!

Misled Truth

Dying husband asks his wife: “Our 7th son always looked diffrnt frm d othr 6, did he hav a different father?”

Wife(crying): Yes

Husband: Who?

Wife: You!!;)

Thalaivar is Famous than anyone in the world!!!

Rajni Mania… Rajnikanth was bragging to Amitabh Bachan one day, “You know, I know everyone. Just name someone, anyone, and I know them. Tired of his boasting, Amitabh Bachan called his bluff, “OK, Rajini how about Tom Cruise?”

“Sure, yes, Tom and I are old friends, and I can prove it” Rajini said.

So Rajini and Amitabh Bachan fly out to Hollywood and knock on Tom Cruise’s door,

And sure enough, Tom Cruise shouts : “Thalaiva! Great to see you! You And your friends come right in and join me for lunch!”

…Although impressed, Amitabh Bachan is still skeptical. After they leave Cruise’s house, he tells Rajini that he thinks Rajini knowing Cruise was

Just lucky.

“No, no, just name anyone else” Rajini says

…”President Obama”, Amitabh Bachan quickly retorts

…”Yes”, Rajini says, “I know him.

And off they go. At the White House, Obama spots Rajini on the tour and motions him, saying, : “Rajini, what a surprise, I was just on my way to a meeting, but you and your friend come on in and let’s have a cup of coffee first and catch up”.

Well, Amitabh Bachan is much shaken by now, but still not totally onvinced. After they leave the White House grounds, he implores him to name anyone else.

“The Pope,” Amitabh Bachan replies

…”Sure!” says Rajini, “My folks are from Italy and I’ve known the Pope a long time”.

Rajini and Amitabh Bachan are assembled with the masses in Vatican Square when Rajini says, “This will never work. I can’t catch the Pope’s eye among all these people. Tell you what, I know all the guards so let me just go upstairs and I’ll come out on the balcony with the Pope.”

And he disappears into the crowd headed toward the Vatican.. Sure enough, half an hour later Rajini emerges with the Pope on the balcony.

But by the time Rajini returns, he finds that Amitabh Bachan has had a heart attack and is surrounded by paramedics.

Working his way to Amitabh Bachan’s side,

Rajini asks him, “What happened?”

Amitabh Bachan looks up and says,

“I was doing fine until u and the pope came out on the balcony and the Italian man next to me said,

“Who’s that on the balcony with Rajini?”
