SaLt Review

Watched SALT last weekend and enjoyed the movie a lot. Though I’m not a Fan of Angelina Jolie I went ahead and watched the movie because of the the Buzz created by the Trailers & I loved the trailers and I was waiting for long for the release of the movie.

A Small Synopsis

Russian Spy Agency trains a bunch of Kids (between the age of 10 – 12) & immigrate them to US and make them join different American security Agencies. One of the SPY is Evelyn SALT(Angelina Jolie) & her boss is also a Russian Agent which is revealed only in the climax.

SALT completes her accomplished task and on going back she reaches a place where she finds all her childhood friends who were trained along with her. There she finds her husband being killed. She retaliates by killing everyone there.

Then she is taken to Kill the American President & when she nears to the President her American Agency Boss kills everyone & that is when he explains how he pushed for SALT to kill the president & other Russian Agents so that he can get a good name.

Finally Salt Kills her boss & gets arrested. While air-lifting her she explains things to FBI agent and he releases her hand cuffs & allows her to jump from the helicopter asking her to clean other agents too. Then we see SALT running through the woods & there ends the movie.

Movie has a good screenplay with lots of suspense & it is action packed. I’d give a thumbs up for the movie.

Milaga Review

Day before yesterday had dinner with my friends and they said the movie MILAGA was good. After dinner I straight went to Meenakshi Bazaar to buy the CD and then came back to office and worked till 12.30 AM…

After reaching home found Kannan watching Ravanan for second time… Immediately stopped him and I started watching the movie… To my surprise;

  • The movie was on the lines of Madurai Sambavam but this movie is a comedy one. I felt bad that I missed watching the movie in Madurai theatre as it is a movie based on the city.
  • Screenplay is too fast and not even a single scene were boring.
  • There is no tragedy & that makes the movie worth a watch.
  • Characters & team are from same as Mayandi Kudumbathar & Koripalayam.
  • Most comedy scenes were hilarious & even otherwise it was not boring.
  • Hero Natraj has done a good job. He is natural when it comes to acting, comedy & stunt.
  • Over all it was worth watch movie. Not sure why movie went unnoticed.

Watched Vinayakudu

Long back when Vinayakudu was running at Satyam Cinemas I missed watching the movie on theatres. I read a lot about the movie’s review. For some reason I forgot about the movie.

After a nice sleep yesterday & a long nap by evening made me fresh & after spending some time Major & after some mobile blogging, I decided to watch this movie in my DVD.

• The movie was very natural & I never had any break in-between.
• There were lot of connect with characters for the urban audience. • Hero has really rocked & he gels well with his character.
• Also must mention about the background score. Which is another boost to the movie.

I heard the movie’s Village to Vinayakudu is a flop. But will definitely watch that movie.

Milenge Milenge Review

Got to get old of an old friend with whom i’ve lot of stakes. Since its been a long while i wanted to catch hold of him and understand how he is going to reply my debts. So, we decided to have a long discussion and we went to Ampa Skywalk & there we decided to goto Milenge Milenge. There is nothing special about the movie and we must accept that this is a 6 year old movie. So, this is my review;

  • Movie reminds me of Tamil movies of the 90’s and it was not bollyhoodish.
  • It is not Kaminey Shahid or a Size Zero Kareena. So, it is hard to accept a lean Shahid & a chubby Kareena.
  • Movie is too dragging & predictable.
  • In spite it is not boring either. Movie runs fast & i’ve the title humming every where.
  • Overall it is worth the money and worth watching once.

Knight & Day Review

What will be the effect when the heartrob of men & women join together. It is going to be a bang for the audience and so is the Camaroon Diaz & Tom Cruise starer Knight & Day. It has been a long time since i’ve been to my Sweet Mary sorry June (Diaz) movie. No words to talk about her energy & my heart explodes on seeing her every frame. Talking about the movie it is;

  • A full-fledged Masala movie where Hero doesn’t have a down side. More on Vijaya Kanth sort. But it suits well for Tom.
  • Comedy is hilarious.
  • Camaroon Diaz has added the to glamour & the character June still lives in the mind.
  • Very fast paced screenplay and not even a single scene looks boring.
  • For sure it is a must watch movie for another time.

Watching such movies during the weekend is certainly going to make the entire week enjoyable.

MadrasaPattinam Review

Watched MadrasaPattinam along with my friends and with my fiancee. As usual we were late by 15 minutes but better than my friends who came late by 30 minutes and 45 minutes. This if what we taught about the movie;

  • First half was humorous & enjoyable….
  • Too long first half even though we were late by 15 min.
  • Second Half was dragged a lot & becomes boring.
  • Got a nice experience to see Chennai during the 40’s.
  • Come to know form Director Nandhini’s FaceBook post that the background were Computer Graphics and not settings.
  • Heroine Amy Jackson needs a mention for her acting and for her gorgeous looks.
  • Arya’s performance was good. But he still deserves better role for his talent.
  • Kudos to Director Vijay and team for such a wonderful try and for showing Kollywood is also capable & competent of taking movies of the past.
  • Movie borrows a lot of scenes from Lagaan, Titanic & Apacalypto.

I Hate Love Storys – Review

Watched I Hate Love Storys this Sunday. To be frank i was little upset as we missed 20 min of the movie and that to because of a friend who is known for delaying things.

After getting settled the first half was little comical and zoom came the interval. Kudos to the initial minutes we missed.

To be frank I think we didn’t miss much as it was a predictable screenplay and the story was also Old Wine in a New Old Bottle. Only good thing is it has youthful characters.

I Loved the comedy part of the movie, watch Sizzling Sonam Kapoor, the concept of leading the life we need & fight till the last to win what we needed the most.

Why I Like Raavanan

I wanted to make a post about this a while back but it took some time. Itz better late than never. As usual we grabbed tickets for Raavanan on the first day and the immediate response from my friends were negative. I personally liked the movie very much. But as days passed I was getting only one feed back that movie sucks. Also what made me red was people started criticizing Mani Rathnam like;

  • He has gone old.
  • He doesn’t understand latest trent.
  • He is saturated.

But what ever the critic may tell. You cant judge a person with one movie. We all must remember that he has re-defined Indian cinema & one more thing is movie is not that bad. But still I’m unable to crack what went wrong that most of the people didn’t like the movie.

For me Vikram, Karthik & Prabu have given a great performance. Coming back to the point on why I liked the movie is because of the songs, the camera work, stumble comedy & typical mani’s screen play.

I love this short film!!! Wonderful performance by these amateurs

I love this Tamil Short Film “Kathalil Suthappuvathu Eppady” (How to Screw your love)…

Vedam – A Class Telegu Movie

Watched a Telegu (VEDAM) movie in theatre after a long GAP… I think Atthadu was the last movie i watched. Movie revolves around the life of;

Allu Arjun – Who is a poor cable boy who wants to become rich by marring a rich girl.

Manoj Manchu – A rich boy who wants to become big in the world of music. But discouraged by his widowed mother who wants him to enter the foot steps of his Father & Grand father who lost their life in War.

Anushka Shetty – A sex worker who elopes to Hydrabad to become an independent sex worker.

Manoj Bajbai – A muslim who is always been suspected for terrorism.

Saranya – A poor mother who comes to Hydrabad to sell her kidney to repay her debt with the money lender who taker her intelligent son as a slave.

All characters meet in a hospital which is attacked by terrorist and the end result is Manoj Bajbai proves that he is a true citizen of the country, Allu & Manoj looses their life while fighting the terrorist, Anushka stops working as a a sex-worker, Saranya repays her debt and takes her son back.

All parallels have been tied well and overall it was a nice movie to watch.
