Partying Networking & Reunion


Last two days I’ve been partying hard and networked a lot and got reunited with my old friends. Yesterday being a Saturday I got a call from a friend who invited me to join his friends in a party in Asiana in OMR. I’m visiting the hotel for the first time and got linked with the Landlord of the Hotel & other entrepreneur folks.

It was fun time there because the Landlord was one of the committee members to select the live band in the Pub. The girls singing dedicated all songs to us because of Hari. Also I’m going to the Hotel for first time and it is really mind blowing interiors and experience.

From there we had a choice of going to a Movie or to goto Pasha. We choose to goto Pasha and we picked my friends Girl Friends. This time I remembered my mentor and I invited him to Pasha.

My mentor was happy about my comeback and he enjoyed his drink and dance. For some reason floor was closed by 12 o clock and we went for dinner and while dropping those girls I crashed my car while taking reverse.

Morning work-up only hearing the yelling of my mom. Thank god I’ve a supportive sister who came to my rescue. I promised to take her to her Idol Vijay’s movie. Thank god she had some other commitment.

I got a call from one of the friend whom I met yesterday to join them for a house party. I went to his posh bungalow in Thambaram. This time most of them people networked are Compire, Serial Directors & actors. They were all drunk and I was unable to catch-up with them. Over all I didn’t enjoy the evening.

Then from there we went to watch the movie which I promised to take my sister and you can see the review I posted for Vetaikaran.

I must thank my position as CEO of Software Company which startles when I get introduced. People immediately befriend me and call me next day asking if there is any vacancy for their friend / relative.

Over all I enjoyed the party and networking. Now it is time to start forth coming week with a bang.

Retiring from Twitter


Yes all good things must come to an end. That applies to my tweeting too. It all started a year and half back where in I started tweeting actively. Twitter was a means to pass my time and it really helped me to share my thoughts, feeling and emotions. Also I got lots of friends because of Twitter. 

Last year same time when I was feeling lonely in Madurai which was a new place for me, my only companion was twitter. 

In spite of gaining so much from twitter. Why I wanted to quit? 

There are multiple reasons which forced me to take this call; 

  • Twitter has become too huge and chaos.
  • It has become a platform for Spamming.
  • Not longer I feel lonely.
  • My business schedule has become tight and time for twitting has come down.
  • I’ve developed too many hobbies and that has resulted in diluting my interest to tweet.
  • Though I’m an open person I was forced to come down on my tweet because of competitors.
  • Twitter becomes an addict which has taken a toll on my work and sleep.
  • Couple of people started complaining that I’m flooding their timeline with my tweets.
  • Thought my thinking and way to express things improved. My grammar has become poor for trying to fit things into 140 words.
  • Finally most of my friends too have reduced their tweeting and as a result no one is keeping me engaged. 

So, what I mean is I’m not totally quitting Twitter. I’m not going to be an active & consistent participant. I might occasionally tweet and share my feeds as tweets. 

I take this opportunity to thank everyone who have encouraged me, motivated me all through.

CEO LifeStyle’09 Outcome


As an outcome of visiting CEO LifeStyle’09 I got more inclined to; 

  • Buying a Yacht. The way it was displayed carried me away and I immediately enquired the price. An base model of Yacht costs Rs.15,00,000/- and the maintenance is only Rs50,000/- PA. Also the dealers will take care of getting clearance from all regulators. Now I’ve set an additional goal of buying a Yacht within next 5 years.
  • Buying an in-house Golf course. Even this was displayed in the stall and I might buy it by next month. The entire Kit costs Rs.10,000/-
  • Then I came across a cigar stall. Thought I don’t smoke I like to collect and I got the address of the store so that I can start my collection.
  • Other thing is to set a swimming pool in my terrace. I came across a stall where they help to build swimming pools. And they said setting a pool in terrace is feasible. Again new goal is to set a swimming pool in my terrace within a year. 

For now these are the only things which have been in my long list of goals and I think I must work hard & smart to achieve these goals.

Sleepy & Enjoyable Sunday


It has been long that I slept like a mad guy. Last week I was enjoying researching about Internet Marketing & Offline marketing and I had to work till late hours. So I was deprived of good sleep the whole week. 

Yesterday I didn’t have any calls from friends to party and after visiting CEO LifeStyle’09 I straight went to my home & after having brief calls with friends I immediately crashed to bed by around 11.30 in the night and got up only by 4.30 evening the next day. Nothing can compensate for a undisturbed sleep and again I must thank my friends for not disturbing me for week end outings. 

Then I got a call from Balaji by 4:30 which was the wakeup call and also I didn’t want to sleep any longer. Also it has been a long time since I’ve been with Balaji. I always enjoyed hanging around with Balaji as we shared common thoughts. But since he is engaged I didn’t want to take much of his time and I stopped calling him out.

Since he called me and asked if we can go out for a movie? I accepted the invitation without thinking a second. So we both were hungry and we drove to mayajaal and booked tickets for Rocket Singh & went for dinner. For the first time I can say I have had a delicious food at mayajaal food court. 

I & Balaji spoke about multiple things that happened in between our previous meeting. So, none of the topic was discussed in detail. 

Then we watched a wonderful movie Rocket Singh and returned back again discussing multiple things. 

Then once reaching our home we bid adieu each other as we enjoyed the day and also went out after a long time.

Wish you Many More happy returns of the day Mom


Today is my mother’s birthday and it is so special day in my life. So, how did we celebrate the day. I, my sister & father were awake till 12 o clock to wish her. 

We woke my mother who was sleeping and wished her on the special day. Also we didn’t cut cake as my mom is a Veggie & we didn’t want to make the occasion western. 

So we decided to go for a family lunch / dinner. Unfortunately that didn’t happen because my father & sister were help with work. 

Since I don’t want to disclose the gift we got to my mother. I’ll keep that part private. Over all it was a small 15 min occasion. 

But it was most cherishing moment to celebrate the day of someone who gave me the entry to this loveable world and been a part of my success and a supporting hand during my tough times.

I wish my loveable mother a Happy Birthday once again…

Wills LifeStyle Market Research


Today I obliged Wills Lifestyle’s Invitation. On reaching Park Sheraton I came to know it is conducted by Quantum Market Research Pvt. Ltd. WLS has requested Quantum Market Research to do a survey. 

It we handpicked few say seven attended the Market Research program. Each of them was Big Shots in their own way. 

We had to attend 3 hours to answer lots of questions, comparison with other brands and ways to improve WLS. We didn’t get irated and we answered everything politely because we all gelled well and we became good pals. 

For me this has turned out to be a good networking event & I grabbed every opportunity to collect the business cards of other folks.

Also I was able to get the perspective of other folks on fashion and the trends that happen in India & abroad. 

After the research was over we were asked to have dinner, but we all refused as we wanted to reach home as it was too late. Then we were given a gift voucher from Landmark for 1000 bucks. 

Gift voucher only startled me because we thought we must have got voucher from WLS itself. Other wise it was an enjoyable evening.

Ending up the year with Elite Invitations


Start of this year I evolved a set of rules so as how I must lead a life this 2009 and that was one of my New Year Resolutions.  Some of the rules are;

  • Never travel by autos.
  • Never travel by flights.
  • Never buy premium products.

And more and to the best of my knowledge I kept to my resolution. But ending this year I’m getting invitation for all elite things;

Wills Life Style Invitation: Got a call from a representative from Wills Life Style for some surprise event at Park Sheraton, Chennai. The event is on 9th and the way the women invited me was funny.

She said the invitation is only for Premium Members and she said;

  • Free dinner Buffet
  • Gift Voucher for Rs.1000/-
  • Then a surprise gift on the day.

Then she asked for my confirmation to make up to the event. It sounded funny & the lady spoke to me in a way that if I come I’ll be offered dinner. It sounded how politicians gather crowd by offering Food & Cash. Like wise I’m also invited for Food + Cash (in the form of Gift Voucher.

On the serious part I wear only Will Life Style merchandise & I don’t know why this surprise event. Anyway let me keep my fingers crossed and hope it doesn’t become a disappointing night.

CEO Lifestyles: then I got a personal invite from organizers of CEO Lifestyles which is been conducted in Chennai Trade Center on 11th, 12th & 13th. I don’t know what to expect there and I don’t know how they got hold of me. Today I got a call from then asking for my commitment to make up on any one of the day.

This is a closely held event & everyone is not invited. At least that is what they told me. I might make it along with Bala on 11th (Friday).

HSBC Premium Account: Got a call from HSBC representatives and gave them an appointment to meet me. They are offering me a Premium account with all elite benefits. Even my bankers ICICI & CitiBank whit whom I’ve maintain my account for a long time and also having transacted huge amount of money I was not upgraded to Wealth Management Account.

I was surprised to get an offer from a bank where I didn’t have any relationship all these years. Might be someone working with ICICI or CitiBank must have jumped to HSBC.

In spite of me telling the bankers that I can’t maintain a big balance for a premium account. They said they will offer it even I’ve my account with zero balance.

Again this is a shocking experience and I don’t know what is happening around me.

All the things listed above happened last week and I don’t know if I really deserve them. Anyways I’m thrilled that I wanted to lead a very simple life and I was successful somewhat and now I’m getting all Elite things at the end of the year. Let me experience all the above and see how it turns up and will sure make a Blog post about the experience.

Topsy Turvy Saturday


We have decided to party last Saturday and all arrangements were planned ahead. The original plan was to head to 10 Downing Street in North Boag road as we wanted to goto a different place. My friends promised to come with two of his girl friends to take us in. 

But things started too disastrous as usual. My friends got help up in a party in ECR and I got engaged in business meetings. The girls asked us to pick then before 9 o clock which were unable to do it. 

Now all confusions started & some how we achieved what we wanted. Here is a synopsis of the night; 

  • I & my friends reached the place by 11 o clock.
  • We were not allowed inside as we were stags.
  • Kudos to our celebrity friend with whose help we were let it. But it was 11.40 PM.
  • The floor was closed by 12 o clock and we literally did nothing.
  • We didn’t want to spoil the day and we headed to Pasha. Again with the help of celebrity friend.
  • This was the first time I enjoyed danced with unknown babes. That too because of my celebrity friend. Girls approached him to dance with them and since we were his friends we got along well.
  • Then this time Udayanidhi Stalin didn’t make it to the night and the place was closed by 2 o clock in the morning.
  • We were litrally asked to leave the parking lot because it was the day of Babri Masjid demolition.
  • Still we were not fully happy and we planned to head to Checkers.
  • Checkers was a pacca local crowd. But I enjoyed a lot here as this was something new and interesting.
  • Then we were there doing some Bottom Fishing till 5 AM.
  • Then we were too tired and I reached home only by 5.30 in the morning. 

So we started with 10 Downing then hopped to Pasha & finally hopped to checkers. At the end of the day I was happy and an electrifying evening.

What happened to my hobbies?


Last year I developed hobbies like; 

  • Photography
  • Blogging
  • Tweeting
  • Travelling
  • Physical workout. 

That is because I was back from a big depression and I had lot of time and I wanted to divert my mind from all bad experiences. It was these hobbies which helped me to overcome strongly. 

For last 3 months my concentration on all these hobbies are slowly coming down. I don’t know if I must take it positively as; 

  • I’m getting busy because of business commitments.
  • I’m back from memories of all bad experience. 

Or should I blame myself for cutting down on my hobbies which have helped me in bad times. 

Though there is every genuine reason like; 

  • System problem to download pictures shot from camera has diminished my interest in photography. In fact I stopped taking camera now-a-days.
  • Blogging has taken a beating because I’m taking care of Sales for CCS where I travel to client places. So, I’m not sitting online like before.
  • Same applies to twitter.
  • I stopped travelling because of the long summer this year and still I didn’t get back to loop.
  • Again this is because of my laziness because of travelling. 

But personally speaking I want to balance things and want to accommodate all the special things which were my companion during my lonely times. So from now I plan to be more professional and get back to loop.

A Jam Packed Day


Yesterday has been a fulfilling day as it kept me fully engaged which is what a person like me expects. The day started drowsy as usual like every day. I got up by 11 AM and it was normal routine. By 11.45 AM i drove to my office and reached office by 12.15 noon.

Then I started the day with couple of tweets and posted a Blog. Then came my cousin who wants to be a part of my marketing initiative and I took him as a Business Development intern.

I did some mentoring which started with some enlightenment of his current small business and then I took him through his role as an intern. Hope he enjoys working under me.

Got a call from my friend who came to give his marriage invitation. Then spent an hour with him and took him to the house of another friend.

Then retuned to office to pickup another cousin who started an aquarium business and he visited my office to give his consultation on setting up an aquarium in my office.

Then by the end of the day me and Bala thought of going for a movie and we went to Satyam Cinemas and booked a ticket for Kurbaan. As it was only 8 o clock and the show was by 10.30 we thought we could spend the remaining time at Amethyst as Bala has never been there before.

At Amethyst it was as usual a nice atmosphere but the food was really bad. Then this time I was more irated by their behavior. in their menu they has specified their timings as 10 AM – 10 PM.

But instead they started closing the shop by 9.15 and the guy came near us and he switched off the fan without having the courtesy to ask for an excuse. They did all things to drive us out even before 9.30 PM and we came out with frustration.

But we were talking business, cracking jokes and I didn’t want to spoil my mood and I drove till island ground and returned and parked the car at Satyam Annex and we took a walk to theatre.

My expectations we set high on movie as Shiv Sena has said that they are going to send saris to Kareena Kapoor & while getting the tickets we were told it was an adults only movie and we cant take minors.

I thought there would be some adult scenes in the movie and nothing of that sort was shown. All hype created by promos, media and the person issuing tickets ended in disappointing me after the movie got over.

Over all it was a day where I was engaged every minute and I’m happy to close the day.
