2010 starts as a Cost Saving Year

For a long time I wanted to buy a perfume. But for some reasons this was getting delayed. Then my friend went to Netherlands and I asked him to get a Perfume but he has got me a aftershave balm. Though he got me something wrong the fragrance was nice. Again for I forget to but a perfume when I go shopping.

Last month I was asked to participate in a survey conducted by Wills Lifestyle & after the survey we were given a gift-voucher for Rs.1000 from Landmark. I wanted to redeem the coupon as I’m prone to forget it till the coupon expires and this has happened a lot of time.

This time I went to landmark with my coupon and selected Silver Black Azzaro which costs Rs.1500 for 30 ML. I decided to buy that as fragrance was nice and mild. After using the coupon for 1000 bucks I redeemed my membership reward points for balance 500 bucks.

I was happy that I was getting a product for almost free after a long time.

Sethupathi School Madurai

Before getting into the crux of my post i want to thank Mr.Major Karthik for the snaps he has provided. He has become a fan of my blog and has offered to become a PRO for my blog. Hope he helps me with more content & deal with promotional activities.

Coming back to our topic i want to take you all to a school in Madurai where famous poet and freedom fighter Mahakavi Barathiyar has worked as a tamil teacher in the year 1904.

Fourth Tamil sangam was inaugurated in this School.

I personally owe a lot to this school as they have given space for Cogzidel Employees to part their vehicles in their campus.

Here are some snaps of the school;

Great Lakes Alumni Meet

Yesterday it was out alumni meet Great Connect. We are one notorious batch where we had fun mixed with performance. So there was noting to complain about our batch. Also we are known for our unity. So we didn’t have excuse to have a mini re-union.

Since most of out batch-mates were from other cities only a handful of us were able to make it. So people who marked their attendance were Captain Ravi, Srikanth, Mani Maran, Tamizh, EPV & Yours Truly.

So we all assembled in our favorite place Green Meddows Resort @ Palavakkam. Our original plan was to meet by 2 o clock. Have Lunch and leave the place by 3 o clock top our GLIM new campus @ Manamai. But as usual folks didn’t want to miss a great opportunity of being alone & we were back to our track and we started by 5 o clock.

We reached GLIM by 5 o clock and I must say it was really stunning campus. We missed the morning sessions to tour the campus. On reaching the campus;

  • We had chitchat with our mentor Uncle Bala.
  • Group alumni photo.
  • Photo with our batch.
  • Followed by Q & A session with uncle.

Then we didn’t want to join the beach party. Instead we headed to a 9th feet bar in Neelangarai. Then folks re-charged themselves, finished dinner and we dispersed.

Though I portrayed things in brief. It was really enjoyable moment to be with your classmates after a while. As we were;

  • Pulling down each other.
  • Calling folks getting updated from them & again pulling them down.
  • Talking current trends like (Telengana, Climate Change etc)
  • Then we flashed back and cherished our schooling days.

Now we have fixed up a time for next re-union. It is during April @ Pondy.

What an experience

I can’t believe my eyes. I don’t know if I had this much discipline. Let me list down the list of events;

  • Reached office by 11:45 PM from alumni meet to see Rooban.
  • Checked emails, had some word with Rooban and went back home.
  • Directly went to Lu along with my notebook. Only to notice there is no net connectivity.
  • Get upset with BSNL. But had some small grub, made some calls & settled by 1:30.
  • Then thought I can run on treadmill but was upset because of BSNL & was in no mood to workout.
  • Then tried to crash. Felt like mad without laptop next to me.
  • Also not blogging my experience made me even mad.
  • Felt tired & sleepy but was unable to sleep.
  • Was awake until 3:45 AM and that is when I noticed I must blog.
  • Then I woke my mom & proceeded straight to office and reached here by 4 AM.

Only now I can realize how addictive blogging has become to me and I’ve no regrets for this habit.

So I made couple of blog post and time to go back home and crash =;.

Nice Job Suresh Ramaswamy

Today I got a link from my friend Suresh Ramaswamy alias Anand Erode that had showcased the pictures he shot from his camera during the New Year eve.

I was startled for two reasons;

  • For the marvelous firework show.
  • Realizing the photography skill of my friend.

He is a talented chap from his childhood days & one good thing about him is still hungry for new hobbies and excelling in it.

I miss him these days. Mate I wish to spend next year new year with you in Singapore and learn some photography & enjoy the show.

These three tops my list;

New Year Bash

Last year I had a silent new year and this year I was determined to have a great bash. When I was brainstorming the way to spend this New Year. I got a call from my friend KaviRaj of AreaPal. He invited me to Yogi-B event, which he co-hosted.

When I asked one of my friends he said we could accept the invitation, as Dr.Burn was his friend & also our music director friend BoBo Sashi wanted to make it.

Upon reaching the place by 10 PM Kavi asked us to keep the expectations low. On entering the place it was absolute ciaos. People were upset;

  • For poor service.
  • Shortage of food.
  • Bouncers handled things badly.

But we enjoyed to the core because;

  • We got free invitation and we had nothing to loose on service or food shortage.
  • Co-organizer KaviRaj was on his high and I enjoyed with his company.
  • Since we had BoBo & Rooban (Dr.Burn’s Friend) we got linked with YogiB & Dr.Burn.
  • We added fuel on the angry crowd and enjoyed their actions.

Over all it was an electrifying New Year party. Thank you Kavi, Rooban & BoBo.

These were the snaps taken with YogiB, BoBo & Dr.Burn.

Recollecting 2009 resolutions

We are approaching the end of 2009 and this last day i want to recollect all the resolutions i had for 2009 and how successful am i in full filling those resolutions. Let me list the resolutions;

Resolution 1: Lead a simple life.

As per this resolution i wanted to lead a simple life where in i didn’t to board Auto-rickshaws, Flights, Taxi’s. So i travel through cheapest traveling option. To my satisfaction I can say I full filled this resolution as an individual. I think my CFO Mr.Bala Murugan is the best person to endorse this :).

Then not to purchase Gadgets, expensive dresses etc. Again you can endorse my success in this by seeing my Mobile phone which i was forced to buy because my old one was dead. Yes i got a mobile for Rs.1800/- only.

Resolution 2: To Blog Regularly.

Again you readers can endorse me by seeing my Blog Logs. I’m happy to full fill this resolution too.

Resolution 3: To have more Vagabond trips.

Starting this year i had lot of Vagabond trips to places like KanniyaKumaru, Munnar, Coimbatore, Kodaikanal, Thirunelveli & Theni. Then after May i wanted to take a break for 3 months because of summer. Sadly this year it was a long summer as heat waves lasted till October. So i can say i was 50% successful in full filling this resolution too.

Resolution 4: Workout and have a good physique.

Let me confess i failed miserably in this :(. I worked out promptly till May then after that i went back to dogs.

Resolution 5: Build my Networks.

  • With the help of Mr.Bala Murugan i got hold of lots of friends & acquaintance in business.
  • I went to Madurai without any friends and today i can say i’ve atleast 100+ friends at madurai and thanks to Sathish & Maverick Fitness Center.
  • Then with the help of my friend Roshan & Inshape Fitness Studio i got linked with lots of Celebrities.
  • Lots of friends through Twitter, Linkedin, Peerpower & Facebook.

So i can give a pass mark for this resolution too.

Resolution 6: To get a groove into CCS as it is a new zone for me.

  • After bootstrapping in a shared office, we have moved in to our own office.
  • With clients in all the services (other than franchise) we offer.
  • Breaking-even for last 3 months.
  • Increasing the team count for CCS.

I must say I’m happy with this resolution too.

To conclude this is the first year where in i’ve a pass mark to my resolutions and also this is the first year where in i’ve a list of resolutions too. Now it is time to sit and rework on another set of resolutions and wish i blog the experience of coming years resolution same day same time.

Until then wish to be successful in accommpolishing next year resolutions too.

Wish you all a happy 2010.

Bad Things Happen at Same Time

In tamil there is a saying “Patta Kal-liyae Padum Sutta Kai-liae Sudum” (meaning “Hit legs gets re-hittem & Burned hands gets Burned again”). Like that saying lot of challenging things happened to me at the same time. Last week i went out on two day spiritual vacation where in i visited 6 temples in 2 days. After reaching home i wanted to blog the experience and sadly;

  • Internet was not working & in spite of giving repeated complaint’s nothing is happening.
  • When i thought of using Data Card it didn’t work. Reason “Payment not paid” & thanks to my memory power.
  • I settle all my bills online because there was no net i as unable to make payments and i delayed couple of payments from card to data card to insurance policy payment.
  • I was unable to come to office as it was Christmas Holiday and also i was tired of driving continuously for 2 days.

The worst is not over. For christmas i got an invitation from a celebrity friend to attend a charity function at Green Park Hotel, Vadapalani. Everything went well until i met someone who is a pain in my a$$ and things turned topsy turvy that night and i fell ill on saturday and unable to reach office on Saturday.

Then Sunday there was a surprise birthday party of my friend organized by her fiancee. Again i was unable to blog the experience because of internet problem at home. Finally i checked all my mails today after a gap of 6 days. I think this must be the longest gap for not using internet in my entrepreneurial life.

Now i feel relaxed to post this blog and i’ve got to post couple of more pending blogs to be posted.

Highly Spoken Languages in the world

Highly Spoken Languages in the world

Today I had an argument with my friends telling English is not the largest spoken language in the world. My argument was based on assumption that China was the populous country in the world and I assumed Chinese to the largest spoken language.

After coming home I Googled and startled to know these facts.

  • Thought English to be second highly spoken language. But to my surprise English was 3rd highly spoken after Spanish.
  • Six Indian languages were placed in top 20 highly spoken languages list.
