Insomnia & Hypersomnia

Last month I was suffering from insomnia a disorder where in I was not getting sleep. I didn’t sleep day and night for 2-3 consecutive days and this happened on three to four occasions. This was the first time I suffered a disorder like this and I thought of having a doctor checkup. By the time I went to Bangalore 2 weeks back and the work was so hectic that I started sleeping normally.

But for last four days I suffer from another disorder that is total antonym to insomnia. Last four days I’ve been sleeping for more than 12 hours a day and yesterday it was even worse I slept by 10 PM and woke only by 2.30 PM the next day. It is 16 hours of continuous sleep. When I googled about this problem I came to know about hypersomnia which is the name of the disorder.

I’m wondering why this sudden change. I always take pride by telling people that I can control my sleep and many of my friends envy such a trait of mine. Now I don’t know if I must wait and watch or should I goto a doctor immediately and consult him. Anyway I’m very busy for next 3-4 days and let me wait and watch how things progress.

Never mind Mahe!!!

I think it is high time for Indian fans to get mature when it comes to their expectation on Cricket. Personally I’m a great cricket fan and I can’t tolerate India loosing. But we have to understand how we loose. For sure the current team is the best even team India has produced in last 60 years and it has got lot of laurels.

But yesterday I got frustrated to watch a Tamil news channel telling Dhoni would be removed from Captaincy for Team India’s exit from T20 world cup.

Also I think Media is going over board in doing their postmortem. All I can say is Dhoni has proved his mantle as a captain on more than one occasion and this one defeat should not question his capabilities as a leader.

We must acknowledge that T20 is a game of luck. In this format of game any one player’s overwhelming performance can turn any match. This is evident from Team’s like Ireland & Netherlands winning prominent teams which would have been a challenge for them in One day format.

T20 doesn’t allows any martin for error compared with one day format where in you can make up for your mistake. This short version of game is highly speculative and more of a gamble.

We must also blame our Media for this defeat because from the beginning of the game they created lot of unnecessary issues like Shewag incident, IPL fatigue etc. Their interference on player’s privacy and team’s privacy has gone beyond limit. All we have to do is to control our media from doing nonsense job of criticizing.

I’m sure Dhoni & Co will bounce back strong with their capabilities. Good luck Team India for future endowers.

Girls in my life!!

These are the girls who came in my life till date. They have moved forward in their life but I’m not. So for now let me list those girls and tell you what attracted the most;

Juhi-ChawlaJuhi Chawla: I think she is the first babe I started to admire once I reached my adulthood. I was (I think still I’m) a die-hard fan of her and I use to watch all her movies in the 90’s. I can remember the days where I had internet connection from VSNL which was shell based. I use to download her stills and can view those images only after downloading as there was no GUI with shell account. She really dazzled in mid 90’s.

Raveena Tandon: I’ve soo much attraction towards her that I’ve asked my mom to look raveena_tandonfor a bride like her. Her Cheez Badiyae Mast Mast in Mohra still stays in my eyes. In my early days of internet browsing I spend maximum time downloading her stills. Late 90’s and early 2000 I spent a lot of time dreaming about her while studying, sleeping and driving. If I’ve a daughter for sure she will be named after this babe.

urmila_mandotkarUrmila Matondkar: After the release of Rangeela two things happened one is A.R.Rehman’s entry into Bollyhood and the next one is Urmila wave all over India. I’m one person who fell for this babe. She is not only known for her beauty but also for her acting skills. If anyone has to see her best one you must watch Ek Haseena Thi. Again she shared some moment along with Raveena :P.

Drew Barrymore: I must say my love for her started while I was five or six years old. That drew_barrymoreis when I watched the movie the movie Extra Terrestrial. The next time I saw her was in the movie Charles Angels and I fell for this lovely cheek. The last movie I saw her was He is Just not In it for You bur she lost her charm in that movie anyways this babe too has a special place in my heart for ever.

priyanka_chopraPriyanka Chopra: I didn’t get attracted to her when she won neither Miss.World title nor when she acted in her first movie Tamilan. I first got attracted to this babe after watching the movie Mujse Shaadhi Karogi and Salaam-e-Ishq. Fashion made a strong mark in me to fall for her. Now-a-days she finds more time in my dreams.

Nicole Scherzinger: I heard she has ventured into movies but I can’t think of a day where nicole-scherzingerI’ve never thought about this babe for a moment. I got my first enemy in my life because of her. Once I came to know she is dating F1 star Lewis Hamilton I started spending more time in Karting and improving my skills to compete with Lewis one day. Normally I never buy videos of albums. But when it comes to this babe I’ve brought all her albums with videos. I have no words to describe about this babe. For now let me take a deep breathe and move to next one.

tanisha-mukherjeeTanisha Mukerjee: She might have not clicked that much in movies but after seeing Unnaalae Unnaalae & Sarkar Raj I got attracted for her sweet mannerisms and child like acting. Her vibes are soo powerful soo much so that it makes me so fresh after seeing her. If at all I want to marry someone I’d like them to have her mannerism.

Liv Tyler: I came to know about this babe only a week back after watching the movie The liv_tylerStrangers. In the review I wrote in my blog I said only that that justified for time & money spent was Liv. She really sizzles and I think she has found a new place in my heart. It is time to collect more pictures of her and watch more movies of her.

Tamana_bhatiaTamanna Bhatia: She is the latest one in the list and I dream about her a lot now-a-days. Again I didn’t like her from the beginning. I got attracted only after watching the movie Ayan where she sizzles. I’m sure this babe is going to come a full round in the Kollywood and Tollyhood. Till then let me wait for her :P.

Sameera Reddy: No words to talk about this girl. All i can say is she is simply HOT. She really sizzled in Varanam Ayiram & sameera_reddyMusafir and currently if there is someone whom I wanted to get married other than Raveena is Sameera. I know marrying her is a distant dream but no one can stop me from thinking :). Again if don’t get married to her I wish I have two daughters to name them Raveena & Sameera. At present my notebook and mobile if filler with her wallpaper and screensaver. If Sameera reads this blog some day or some time I wish she contacts me and that would be the day in my life. Ok now let me stop here and start dreaming.

My Tattoo Experience

tattooFor long I wanted to tattoo and the dream got realized last week when I went to Garuda Mall. I had a temporary tattoo painted my star sign Pisces in my right hand and after 3 days I tattooed a sea horse at Forum Mall.

It took only 2 – 3 min of time to get it sprayed but there was difference in pricing at Garuda Mall we were charged only Rs.40/- where as in Forum Mall I was charged Rs.80/- almost double for the same.

After I got tattooed I was given a small slip which had Tattoo Care instructions.

  • Do not rub tattoo when wet.
  • Do not apply soap, creams on tattoo.
  • Only pat with towel after bath. Do not scrud it off.
  • May last only for 2 – 3 days for oily skin types.
  • Dab with powder after bath to increase life.
  • To remove tattoo use baby oil.
  • Tattoo is extremely oil sensitive.

Yesterday I went to Bella Ciao restaurant in Kottivakkam Beach, Chennai for dinner. I found a stall for tattooing but the stall was closed. I might go there by evening and get a new tattoo in my hands. For a person who needs to get tattooed can contact Garuda Mall & Forum Mall folks in this number

Alliance Portrait

Last Saturday I’ve been to StudioK to shoot for marriage profile. This was a long pending request and again my laziness prolonged this simple request for more than a year and after cancelling the appointment for 5 – 6 times finally I’ve done it.

I must really give credits to StudioK folks and I’ve never been thru such a professional way for shooting for photos.

Now my parents are happy and let me see if this turns up lucky to find my better half.

First & Second Startup experience – a comparison

I had the opportunity to be a startup twice in my life. My first one started as early as a student and the second was with eight years of entrepreneurial experience. I just wanted to compare how it makes a difference and how I felt on both occasions. So here is a small comparison chart;

First Startup Experience

Second Startup Experience

Lack of experience, focus & investment.

More experience, focus & reasonable investment.

Trust levels are low among stake holders.

Trust levels are high among stake holders.

Company & Personal costs are low.

Company & Personal costs are High.

Fluctuations in motivation are High.

At times motivations levels fluctuates. But experience shows how to overcome it.

Fear of failure is less because there is not point to prove.

Fear of failure is high because people expectation is high because of past success.

Problem solving was poor.

Experience has improved problem solving skills.

Over all it is interesting to be a startup second time also I might think my piece of cake is being like a Serial Entrepreneur so that I always have the excitement of being a Startup. Anyway let me enjoy my second stint of being a startup and run the show until I loose my motivation.

Gave a Presentation to TASMAC Students

Today was an interesting day in my life. Myself and Bala were invited by TASMAC (Training and Advanced Studies in Management And Communication) a B-School in Bangalore as Entrepreneurs of the Month and to give presentation for the inauguration of their new batch to give them insights on entrepreneurship.

We were sent proper guidelines about the landmark and their follow-up was very professional. Once when we reached there we were invited for lunch ad immediately we went to a conference room where there was this bunch of enthusiastic Budding Managers & Entrepreneurs. The class had folks from diverse background where in there people all parts of the country like from Kerala, Jharkhand, Bengal, Bihar and also saw two folks from Maldives and we shared some insights about the island nation.

I was delighted and I envied these smart folks as I didn’t have this much amount of guts or exposure when I was a student. They asked all sorts of questions where in I must say they got the best out of us. The topic we were questioned are on entrepreneurship and global meltdown. Some of the questions I can recollect are;

  • Challenges in entrepreneurship.
  • Is work experience required to be an entrepreneur?
  • Is it right to start a business in these down-turn economy.
  • Does place play a vital role in starting a company.
  • How far values and ethics play a role in business.
  • What are the ways to raise capital?
  • How to overcome bureaucratic challenges?
  • How long this recession last.

Also they were eager to know more from Bala about support functions and about his experience in being Head of Finance with Cricinfo.com. We shared lots of personal cases and real-time cases which we came across in our life.

Overall they say they enjoyed the session by we enjoyed a lot than others. Sharing knowledge always gives a fulfillment and satisfaction. I personally feel this a great moment in my life time.

What I did last Friday night?

After a tedious drive to Bangalore which lasted for 14 hours (Check this blog post for more) we all were tired and we all took a long nap and all woke up by 4.30 PM, took bath and everyone was ready by 5.15 PM. Then we wanted to goto the spot where Startup City 2009 is scheduled. It was a fulfilling night and we did following things;

·         Reached NIMHANS Convention Center where event is scheduled by 6 o clock in the evening.

·         We pasted a banner which has details of all our services in our booth and we met person who coordinates with us to know schedule for Saturday.

·         Then we straight to Garuda Mall around 8 o clock

·         As everyone was hungry because of skipping our lunch we headed to food court to have our dinner.

·         En route on the entrance of food court I saw this small shop painting temporary tattoos and I was longing for a long to time to have one. I choose my star sign Pieces to be tattooed and it took less than 2 min to get it done. I got it painted on my right hand and this will last for one week with some instructions to be followed.

·         Then we all had our dinner and I had dosa and 4 glasses of sugar cane juice.

·         Then we booked Shinjaku Incident a Jackie Chan’s movie ticket in INOX cinemas.

·         Then we wanted to buy some tray, bowls for the event and we were unable to find our needs in the mall.

·         We thought of going to Bangalore central to buy them, luckily we found Home Shop opposite to Garuda mall where we found all that we needed.

·         Then we returned back and checked our weight in a weighing machine and headed inside the theatre.

·         I really loved the movie and Jackie Chan played a different kind of a role which was way different from his Image and he has really sizzled.

·         Then we returned home and we (myself & Bala) gave a small training to Ramanan & Boopathi on how to handle enquiry in the booth.

·         Then I wrote some blogs before this, then I checked emails, read some days news, checked slides for tomorrow’s presentation.

Now it is 3 o clock early morning and have decided to wake up by 6 o clock and reach the event spot by 7.30 AM so that we can be settled and well prepared when the event starts. So, let me take a short nap and get back to you tomorrow with live tweeting and blogging of my experience when every I find time.

Until then it is Good Bye everyone :)…

Need info on Hair Transplantation

I’ve been suffering from hair loss right from my childhood. I thought by this time I must be fully bald but fortunately the falling has come down but still I’m sure I’ll be bald one day. So for last 2 years I’ve been collecting information about Hair Transplantation methods available and I’ve met several cosmetologists, dermatologist and other consultants who promise for hair growth.

When I was googling about Hair Transplantation and I came across this answer for a question posted by someone. I’m not sure about the authenticity about the post. So if anyone of you have experienced personally or thru friends / acquaintance please share your thoughts here.

This is what I read in Yahoo answers.

Well Amit I’m Krish from Delhi. I have been through this surgery thrice. Regarding your question, I would like to say something & then help u.

I’ll write u straight forward- see hair transplant what u r concerned of right now is a very hard job, well doctors say not much. But still you have to bear a lot of pain during the surgery & even after that. But the good part – your head bandage will be opened by the next day or according to the doctor, also you will be paying a quite a lot of money. But that’s upto you.

The most bad part is what I’m suffering right know is what you will have to bear after the surgery – i.e. you will see some marks remaining on the area where the transplant is done, it looks rash like something, even same marks will remain in back of your head from where hair is taken to get transplanted to the area where you are willing to do.

The worst part is: when rest of your hair falls one day and when you get old transplanted hair will remain, just think of the scenario – the rash kind marks discussed above could be seen. Even if you want to get your head shaved (ganja). You will not be able to do it because of the transplanted marks which will be exposed and your entire friend’s circle or any one can pass comments, bad comments at you, even you would feel embarrassed when you stand in front of a mirror. So my suggestion would be “keep it normal” because I am suffering from all these problems & you are also likely to be suffering from those problems my friend.

Summer Synopsis!!

Summer has come to an end and a lot of things have happened in this one month…

  • Month started with days out with my MBA folks…
  • Followed by MBA convocation which I received from Mr.Sashi Taroor.
  • I fulfilled my mothers wish by taking her to a pilgrimage tour to templates in south Tamil Nadu. Some famous temples we visited were
    • Palani
    • Azhagar Temple
    • Pilliar Patti
    • Thiru Kostiyur
    • ChakarathAlwar
    • Srivilliputtur
    • KanniyaKumari Amman
    • Suchindrum
  • Then one of our products Beatz started to get momentum and I was happy to see results of our hard work.
  • Then came the hard part our successful product Beatz had to be pulled out temporarily because of a competitor.

Now what am I supposed to do this month.

  • I’m suffering from sleeping disorder (insomnia) this month. There were 2 – 3 days where I didn’t sleep. I’ve never been thru such a problem before. I use to boast to my friends that I was gifted with the habit of sleeping at will. When I read in papers that people use to have sleeping peels I wonder whey they do that. Now I’m one such victim and I must go for a check up and get this cured.
  • Then because of summer I’ve kept my weekend vagabond trips on hold. I’ll probably start it back by 3rd week of this month.
  • I must get the vacation order trashed for Beatz and bring back Beatz for customers.
