I’m a Monkey as per Chinese Zodiac

The Monkey is the sign of the inventor, the improviser and the motivator in the Chinese Zodiac. They are clever, flexible and innovative. They can master anything under the sun and they usually have an aptitude for being good linguists.

No challenge is too great for them and the Monkey will be successful at whatever he chooses to do. They like to help and advise people. They can make for successful businessmen, politician and business figures.

They are a bit lazy in nature and sometimes neglect major issues of life. On the negative side, they have an inborn superiority complex!

Famous people born under the sign: Walter Matthau, Edward Kennedy, Mick Jagger, Duchess of Windsor, Nelson Rockfeller

2011 for the Monkey: The monkeys should prep themselves for a creative year. Staying on top will need you to give your best. And you are ready to push the envelope on both execution and ideas.

Some of you may have to be open to certain constructive criticism which will eventually lead to you understanding your product/venture better allowing you to experiment with new thought patterns and more. Success is yours for the taking especially if involved in media, entertainment and television towards June-July.

Balance in every area, adapting to a healthier lifestyle and keeping your word will become your mantra towards October resulting in a calmer day to say routine. Money matters stay upbeat especially as lucrative investments pay off.

The single find someone attractive and do what it takes to bring him/her in their life. Follow your heart and wedding bells will ring in Jan 2012 keeping you smiling.

Tip of the year: Brilliance in your ideas will need brilliance on the drawing board to make your dreams come true.

Wonder Day at CCS

After a very long time I’ve seen CCS office this calm… Most of the folks were in clients office, no client visits and no meetings… Though this is not an encouraging sign & I don’t wish such environment… It is nice to be like that once a while where in we find time to shake hands with colleagues, spend some personal time with them & plans for productive things…

It was like good old starting days where we goto office work for hours only to find that we have worked for 8 continues hours… Like wise I realized that it was 8 o clock in the night and was in no mood to leave the office because of the productivity in the work & the peaceful environment…

Again it was nice to drop Bala at his home and returned back home with lot of Job Satisfaction…

Even to steal there should be a value

Some guy  bought a new fridge for his house.

To get rid of his old  fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung asign on it  saying: ‘Free to good home. You want it, you take  it.’

For three days the fridge sat there without anyone  looking twice.

He eventually decided that people were too  mistrustful of this deal.

So he changed the sign to read:  ‘Fridge for sale $50.’

The next day someone  stole it!

An Argument of Ideology

India is a Land of diverse cultures based on Religion & Linguist… Though my Ideology favors my religion I look at the greater interest of my country… I’m not in favor of suppressing any religion nor be suppressed… But I was surprised to see someone in my age group who was Ideologically connected to my mother tongue…

Though he was cool & composed in argument unlike me… He was very strong in his belief… He has put his country behind his ideology… Though I was disturbed by that attitude it gave me more insights about effects of polarization done by some fringe elements…

Being a Tamalian I just pitied the case of Sri Lankan tamils and I assumed that was a micro affair because the loss of LTTE disn’t create a big impact on us… Also I was happy that there was no big issue created by Muslims when the Babri verdict was given…

I thought we have become mature as a country in spite of differences we have… But when someone close to me who wants to Leave this country because it is not doing anything to his men… He went to the fact telling he was willing to be a 3rd rated citizen in a foreign country than here…

His concerns are;

  • North Indians ignore death of fisherman by Sri Lankan navy because they are tamils.
  • Lots of Sri Lankan tamils are still tortured.
  • Lanka is in the verge of ethnic cleansing.

My only answer is I was never been treated like a 2nd class citizen by this country… Our home minister is a Tamilian… Infact for more than 2 decade Tamil Nadu had major chunk of portfolio in the Central Governments… Sri Lankan issue or Tamil Fisherman issue is not handled well must be accepted… But we must remember we have greater say in the central cabinet(DMK)… So, the truth is fellow are corrupt and they are not working for the cause of our brothers… If we ourselves ignore the cause of our own people tamilians… It is not reasonable blaming someone who is not linked to us in terms of language…

Though I was not convinced by my friends argument… He was not in a mindset of accept mine either… So, we decided to stop this without any conclusion…

Moral: Changing ones ideology is a difficult task or it is impossible…

Fear Supersedes Passion

In recent times I’m approached by lots of youngsters who have zeal for entrepreneurship… They have wonderful ideas and some even have good execution plan… But what is common with all the folks is the dreaded word “Fear of Failure”… They approach me asking me to help them in execution… In simple terms it is their idea where is I’ve to;

  • Invest in project…
  • Create, Build & manage a team…
  • Manage and align all the stakeholders…
  • Market it to end user…

What all I can get in return is their support from outside… Meaning they wont quit their job & they will keep giving their thoughts… They quit and join me when everything is set and company comes to a comfortable position…

In simple words they want some third person to take the risk and they will share the benefits once the project is a success… If it fails they don’t have anything to loose other than some time they spend on meetings & fringe jobs they do…

The reasons they have for not quitting their job immediately is;

  • They have commitments (at the age of 24 & they assume they will be out of commitment at 34)…
  • They have to gain some expertise & experience…
  • They don’t have sufficient capital…

For all those gentleman I’ve a simple answer… I’m not stupid… If your Fear Supersedes your Passion it your problem… I’ve no obligation to baby sit you for your success…

All I can tell is you are not an entrepreneur material because you don’t have traits such as;

  • Guts
  • Enjoying Failures
  • Fire in your A$$

Finally I’m sure you can’t become an entrepreneur until you change your attitude…

Dutching – The way ahead

This time I’ve never written or blogged about new year resolution owing to my previous year track record(Yes, i never succeeded in any one of the resolutions)… But something I wanted to do this year is to control my expense… I started believing in the concept Money Saved is Money Earned

So, I decided to settle for freebie’s, discounts & get out with friends only when they Dutch… After that resolution I went out with friends to Mahabalipuram & to the movie Dhobi Ghat on 26th… After a long time or for the first time I’ve been outing with friends where expenses were dutch’ed…

It was a travel of 100 KM in a day, with lunch in a hotel, a movie & dinner… Overall my share of expense was less than Rs.300… Never in my life I’ve come home by spending just 300 bucks by enjoying an entire day…

So, my dear friends hence forth be prepared to take me out only when you are ready to share the expense…

Lemon Kills Cancer Cells

This is the latest in medicine, effective for cancer!

Lemon (Citrus) is a miraculous product to kill cancer cells. It is 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy.

Why do we not know about that?
Because there are laboratories interested in making a synthetic version that will bring them huge profits. You can now help a friend in need by letting him/her know that lemon juice is beneficial in preventing the disease. Its taste is pleasant and it does not produce the horrific effects of chemotherapy.

How many people will die while this closely guarded secret is kept, so as not to jeopardize the beneficial multimillionaires large corporations?
As you know, the lemon tree is known for its varieties of lemons and limes. You can eat the fruit in different ways: you can eat the pulp, juice press, prepare drinks, sorbets, pastries, etc.

It is credited with many virtues, but the most interesting is the effect it produces on cysts and tumors. This plant is a proven remedy against cancers of all types. Some say it is very useful in all variants of cancer. It is considered also as an anti microbial spectrum against bacterial infections and fungi, effective against internal parasites and worms, it regulates blood pressure which is too high and an antidepressant, combats stress and nervous disorders.

The source of this information is fascinating: it comes from one of the largest drug manufacturers in the world, says that after more than 20 laboratory tests since 1970, the extracts revealed that: It destroys the malignant cells in 12 cancers, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreas.

The compounds of this tree showed 10,000 times better than the product Adriamycin, a drug normally used chemotherapeutic in the world, slowing the growth of cancer cells. And what is even more astonishing: this type of therapy with lemon extract only destroys malignant cancer cells and it does not affect healthy cells.

Fallen for Deals Mania

Groupon has changed the way we shop on the net and it has created a platform which benefits the vendor & the buyer… For thouse who have no idea about the concept here is how it works;

Groupon.com is a site where in a vendor can display his product or service for a massive discount on a commitment of getting specific number of purchase.

Example if I’m a Vendor selling Jeans… I post a discount of X percentage (most cases it is more than 80%… I commit for that percentage of discount if 100 people commit to buy the product… Deal succeeds if number of people reach 100 else it gets cancelled…

Also there are some vendors who give massive discounts even if there is no minimum guarantee of purchase…

Since I run a Web Development company I got lots of request to develop a site similar to Groupon… I’ve been waiting for a long time to get something similar in India… Also I was following couple of sites based on Groupon concept… For last two months this wave has caught up in India… Following are the sites which I’m aware of;

  • SnapDeal.Com
  • DealIvore.Com
  • Sosasta.Com

Latest sensation among those 3 sites is Sosasta.Com which is acquired by Groupon.com for $10 million… But SnapDeal.Com must be the market leader because he updates atleast 2 new deals per day for almost all major cities… This month I’ve purchased 4 deals & I’m happy about the the deal I got from Big Brands…

  • Got a deal for Rs.299 for a Ayurvedic Massage from Apollo Ayurvedic Centre which was worth Rs.1650 from SnapDeal.Com…
  • Got a deal for Rs.149 for Salsa Classes for a month worth Rs.750 from SnapDeal.Com…
  • Got a deal for Rs.289 for 8 Classes to learn Hindi worth Rs.750 from SnapDeal.Com…
  • Got a deal for Rs.66 for Teeth Scaling & General Dental Checkup worth Rs.650 at Vasan Dental Care from DealIvore.Com…

I’m very much thrilled for getting such massive discounts and I’m expecting more such offers in days to come…
