New GYM experience

Today is the first day I worked out with Sesodia Fitness Center, Vadapalani, Chennai. It is not a great GYM in terms of equipment or with ambiance. But the once reason I join here is because of the trainer. He has been my personal trainer when I was working out in Inshape 2 years back.

But it was not a start I expected. When I went there my trainer was busy and he asked me to run on the treadmill without giving any stretches. After that I was asked to work on EFX where I pulled my back.

Then I had to complain to my trainer about the back problem and he assigned one of his colleagues to help me with stretches. That guy did some stretches for namesake and then I was asked to do cycling.

After which my trainer joined me in giving core exercise. Over all I’m disappointed and as usual I paid for 6 months.

For now I’m forced to continue unless my trainer gives me the attention which he gave me 2 years back.

Itz a Rainy day

Today day started sluggishly as I woke up only by 10 o clock and I missed to goto GYM. After that I browsed for some time and I started to office by 12 in the noon. It was raining fully and I drove enjoying the rain.

On reaching office the office was closed and no one was seen in the office. Then I called Bala and his was talking to a client and didn’t pick my call. Then I thought I had to wait long or to drive back home.

Then got a call from Bala and he opened the door as he was sitting inside. Then it was business as usual. I finished the entire pending task and engaged with some business discussion with Bala.

Three of our staff was on leave and one went to client’s office. So Bala was fully free and had good opportunity to discuss important things without disturbance. Then we started from office by 6.30 PM and we went to coffee shop.

We decided to goto Coffee Central as itz been long we have been there and again we were talking personal and business. Then we decided to go for shopping & Bala has got a SMS from Special Editions saying there is an offer.

I wanted to buy 2 shirts to gift my friends for birthday and I got a Clock for free. Then I returned back home and it was a happy day as I finished many work and more importantly finance related things.

It is always motivating if we have good liquidity and plan things.

From Koyembedu to Mattuthavani

Normally I travel to Madurai in private busses. I avoid government busses because their travelling hours is too long. But yesterday I had to choose SETC (State Express Transport Corporation) bus because I didn’t plan the trip and all the private buses were running full.

To my surprise the cost of SETC buses are 40% less than private bus operators and also I reached Madurai by 7 o clock in the morning.

Then for the first time I travelled in a public transport in Madurai. I got down at Mattuthavani which was the last stop & from there I boarded a bus to Periar Bus Stop in a public bus.

From then it is business as usual.

Autobiography or Confessionbiography?

I see lot of celebrities writing an autobiography where in they use it as a tool to make all their confessions. I know they do it for obvious reasons as to make cheap publicity to boost the sale of the book.

Latest on the list is Andre Agassi who has confessed using performance enhancing drug while is playing days.

There are other stories where cricketers confessing of tampering balls, fooling umpires of run outs. Politicians telling the malpractices did by others or the change in their ideology.

Over all what I can’t tolerate is why these people don’t have the back bone to confess it when they are doing it. We can accept their confession if there is not commercial benefit involved in the form of book publishing.

Already they have made fool of us and again they try to make us fools by making us to buy their books. To put an end to all this we must take stern action. In the case of Agassi if we ask him to pay back all the prize money he earned winning matches and return all the medals and honors he has received in his playing days. Is this is done to one person for sure others will stop doing such cheap things and even if they do they will hesitate to write auto biography.

If strict action is not taken now Autobiographies will become Confessionbiographies to make cheap publicity or monitory gains.

It would be nice if media or news makers stop publicizing such cheap things.

Yet another dull day

Yesterday I woke up only to see myself trapped inside my house and I had to stay inside my house the whole for waking up late. Metro water pipe lying was happening and my street was dug and the entire street was not accessible. My mom woke me up asking me to get ready and get out if I had any work. My laziness played the spoil sport.

Then today again I got up late and again my father took the car which was parked in my uncle’s house couple of streets away and my sister took the two-wheeler. Since it rained the entire mud filled patches got wet and it became like quit sand. Most of the cars got struck in the sand. So again I had to stay back and I didn’t want to waste one more day as I didn’t have any online work to work from home.

Also I got a call from my friend who invited me for lunch to introduce his boss who would be of help in my business. I decided to travel though public transport (Pallavan Bus). Then I went to office to check if my old notebook which was back from servicing (it has 600+ viruses) is working fine. To my happiness everything was fine.

Still I was not feeling comfortable. My body vibes were not positive. Then I called bala to hear irritating news and our mud slingers have started with their work of disturbing us from doing our business. Again my folks are not allowing me to act because patience is always taken for weakness.

Then I went to meet my friend’s boss and I was not in a mood to speak business and I made the occasion as a normal networking lunch and I moved back to office. Bala reached in another 15 min of me reaching back to office and he had to take an interview and finish a client meeting.

After everything was done I went and engaged a conversion with bala and I still felt the day was not productive and I wanted to do something useful to sign off the day. So I decided to buy some motivation quotes to place it in our office. Then myself and bala went to Landmark and brought some 17 frames with motivation quoted and I personally got a thirukural book with also has an explanation about what the kural says.

Then again my friends called me for a movie and we all went to Aadhavan. I’m must be crazy or more brave to watch a movie which I didn’t enjoy when I watched it first.

Over all the day was pretty ordinary and I tried to make it little productive but taking some voluntary steps. Let me put all the bad omen back and step forward to have a fascinating Friday.

First thing I’ll be doing tomorrow is to have a hair cut and have a new look and feel to make some cyclonical difference.

Mind Game

2% or 98% ??

This is strange…can you figure it out?

Are you the 2% or 98% of the population?

Follow the instructions! NO PEEKING AHEAD!

* Do the following exercise, guaranteed to raise an eyebrow.

* Again, as quickly as you can but don’t advance until you are done each of them really.

– Think of a number from 1 to 10

– Multiply that number by 9

– If the number is a 2-digit number, add the digits together

– Now subtract 5

– Determine which letter in the alphabet corresponds to the number you ended up with

(example: 1=a, 2=B, 3=c, 4=d etc.)

– Think of a country that starts with that letter

– Remember the last letter of the name of that country

– Think of the name of an animal that starts with that letter

– Remember the last letter in the name of that animal

Feeling drowsy – But got to finish a lot of work today

Being Sunday things move slowly. But I have a golden day to finish all my personal tasks today but not in a mood to list them. So, thought writing a blog will make me list the stuff I must do for the day.

  • Committed to Balaji that I’ll take him to ICICI Home Loan Mela & accompany him for his hunt for a new house.
  • My old Compaq is in serious danger as it is attacked by Torjan’s, Spywares & Malwares. Must buy a USB and take backups of important files and must format the system.
  • Must make temporary arrangement to fix worms in Old Compaq system until I come back from Salem & Madurai.
  • Got an invitation from my sister to go to Muthukadu for boating. If it is in the evening I might accept the invitation and will go with them.

Being a Sunday I don’t want to push myself so hard. Let me finish these simple things and if time permits and if I’ve a company will go to a movie.

Private Bus Drama

Normally I never travel in small time private bus operators. All my previous experience has been bad. So these are the things that happened in the past;

  • In 2001 I boarded a bus called Sangeetha Travels by 10.30 to Chennai. Since I was tired I slept and woke up by 1 o clock only to fine the bus was still in the same spot I boarded. They were still filling the empty seats. Then reached by 10 AM.
  • Second is also with the same operator & same year who dropped us in chitoor claiming they don’t have a permit to enter Tamil Nadu and left us in a normal bus. Again reached Chennai by 10 AM
  • Then 6 months I boarded a bus to Madurai. This time operator name National Travels. I was told bus starts by 10 o clock and again when we crossed Chennai it was 2 o clocks. Until then they were filling the seats. Then they reached Trichy where most of them got down and again they halted for an hour to fill the empty seats. Then reached by 1 PM.

After these entire nightmares I stopped travelling using smalltime players. Yesterday I badly wanted to travel to Bangalore as today is the last day to pay Professional Tax. I must have booked tickets as I know I must travel to Bangalore. But that is me I love vagabond travel.

Again yesterday I was called by Sangitha Travels. The cost of the ticket was Rs.850/- which was double than what I normally pay. Then I was told I need to board 11.30 PM bus. Then couple of people was asked to board 11 o clock bus and when I asked it that was my bus they said mine was 11.30 bus. A Gurka employee of the travels said 11 o clock bus was last and by now I smelled again I’m into some trouble.

Not this is how the drama started;

  • All of a sudden asked for my boarding pass.
  • He returned asked me to take my bag, run and follow him.
  • He returned shouting at his other agents to call and stop the bus.
  • Then he gave the boarding pass to Gurka and asked him to stop the bus and make me board the bus.
  • He took me to some other agent.
  • He shouted at me asking what time to come.
  • It irked me I started giving back telling I was waiting inside his office for more than an hour. In fact this guy saw me sitting inside his office for long, but he pretended as if he doesn’t know me.
  • Then he asked for another 100 bucks claiming he needed that to help me board another bus.
  • By now I started shouting at him in local Chennai lingo and I said I can create a scene.
  • Then he changed the topic telling I owe them Rs.100 bucks. Then I said if he is going to mess around with me he is into trouble. My ease speaking Chennai lingo helped.
  • Then he said he is doing me a favor. He said without my knowledge he has sent someone in my bus and he took his boarding pass to me.
  • He gave me the front seat where ask I was given the last seat in my ticket.
  • I was adamant not to pay these people even a penny.
  • Then I got into my seat and got settled.
  • Then when I peeped out there were old people, young couples with kids who were put into trouble.

I was in no mood in give a helping hand to them and I was watching all the quarrels. Finally they started the bus by 12:15PM and reached Bangalore by 5:15 PM.

Am I still a ShahRukh Fan?

I’ve known ShahRukh Khan for 21 years now. Those days we had not other option to watch Doordarshan and every day we use to watch Hindi serials between 8 PM to 9.30 PM. As my mother knows Hindi she uses to translate it to me. One such serial we use to watch every day was Fauji starring ShahRukh Khan during 1988. I was too young (I was in Class four) then and I didn’t know she is going to be a big Super Star then.

Then again I use to watch the serial Circus starring ShahRukh Khan after 2 years which was aired every Sunday by 10 PM. I use to sleep only after watching this serial. Even then I was not a fan of Shan Rukh Khan as he was a serial actor.

Then three years later I watched the movie Baazigar only because of ShahRukh. I wanted to watch the movie of a person whom I’ve seen in television. I was really carried away by his acting. Then immediately I watched his next film Darr and it was this movie which made me a fan of him. I was his die-hard fan even before he has created a mark for himself.

Then I started watching all his movies and the next one was Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and I really loved this movie as he portrayed a role of a below average student who fails in his exams and get the irk of his parents. It correlated with my life those days. These movies started cementing my admiration towards this great actor.

Then I watched the Movie Anjaam where he portrayed the role of a Villain and I became his brand ambassador. Then I went back and watched all the movies which released before Baazigar and I didn’t miss any of his movies till date even it was a crap movie like English Babu Desi Mein.

Those days I get irked when Salman or Amir gives a hit and ShahRukh gives a flop. When Salman came with Hum Aapke Hein Kaun I was eagerly awaiting for ShahRukh to give one better than HAHK and he gave Dilwale Duhania Le Jayenge and this movie got more fans for him and many of my classmates accepted him as their Super Star and the brand ambassador was none other than me.

Today he has come a long day and I’ve been his fan for long. I’ve also been his brand ambassador for long. Today when I do a soul searching I don’t know if this man still impresses me? Is he over doing these days? Has he become too big to satisfy every section of his fan base? Has he moved away from his image which made me admire him?

Or did I become sensible by coming out of dark from hero worshipping? Is Amir  & Salman are inspiriring me than ShahRuck? Is his mass appeal has taken me away form him? Or arrival of next generation has diluted my admiration towards him?

What ever the case may be I’m still a good admirer of ShahRukh Khan. Not sure if I still act like his brand ambassador or a great Fan. I didn’t watch his movie Billu Barber which is the first movie which I missed watching. I’ve moved a long way from my Icon and I’ve started pushing for Shahid Kapoor and Sallu now-a-days as  they are giving movies for my taste.

So, to my question the answer is I’m no longer a great fan of ShahRukh Khan.

Vincent Poovaragan my favorate character

Today I was watching Dasavataram where Kamal Hassan portrays 10 different roles. For long I wanted to write a blog about my favorite role but I forgot for some reason. Today I thought it would be right time to dedicate my favorite one.

Vincent Poovaragan portrays role of an illiterate Dalit who fights to uplift his community and an activist who fights form Mud Mafia. Dialogue delivery of this role is very powerful which has lots of punch lines, social message, affection, leadership messages etc. spoken in Tamil in Naragkoil lingo.

Who else could have justice to such a powerful role other than Kamal. This particular character fairs well in makeup / getup, dialogue delivery, characterization et more. I think Kamal can get an Oscar for this role alone.
