Learning to Live without Recognition is a SKILL!!!

There was a farmer who had a horse and a goat…..
One day, the horse became ill. So he called the veterinarian, who said:

“Well, your horse has a virus. He must take this medicine for three days.
I’ll come back on the 3rd day and if he’s not better, we’re going to have to put him down.

Nearby, the goat listened closely to their conversation.

The next day, they gave the horse the medicine and left.

The goat approached the horse and said: “Be strong, my friend.
Get up or else they’re going to put you to sleep!”

On the second day, they again gave the horse the medicine and left.

The goat came back and said: “Come on buddy, get up or else you’re going to die!
Come on, I’ll help you get up. Let’s go! One, two, three…”

On the third day, they came to give the horse the medicine and the vet said:
“Unfortunately, we’re going to have to put him down tomorrow. Otherwise,
the virus might spread and infect the other horses”.

After they left, the goat approached the horse and said: “Listen pal, it’s now or never!
Get up, come on! Have courage! Come on! Get up! Get up! That’s it, slowly! Great!
Come on, one, two, three… Good, good. Now faster, come on…… Fantastic! Run, run more!
Yes! Yay! Yes! You did it, you’re a champion…!!!”

All of a sudden, the owner came back, saw the horse running in the field and began shouting:
It’s a miracle! My horse is cured. We must have a grand party. Let’s kill the goat!!!!

The Lesson:
Nobody truly knows which employee actually deserves the merit of success, or who’s actually contributing the necessary support to make things happen.

Remember:
LEARNING TO LIVE WITHOUT RECOGNITION IS A SKILL!!!!

If anyone ever tells you that your work is unprofessional, remember:

AMATEURS BUILT THE ARK [which saved all the species]

and

PROFESSIONALS BUILT THE TITANIC [all died tragically]

How did one survive growing up in the  80’s and 90’s?
We had no seatbelts, no airbags..

Cycling was like a breath of fresh air…

No safety helmets, knee pads or elbow pads, with plenty of cardboards between spokes to make it sound like a motorbike…

When thirsty we only drank tap water, bottled water was still a mystery…

We kept busy collecting bits & pieces so we could build all sort of things … and we were fearless on our bicycles even when the brakes failed going downhill…

We were showing off how tough we are, by how high we could climb trees & then jumping down….It was great fun….

We could stay out to play for hours, as long as we got back before dark, in time for dinner…

We walked to school, or sometimes we even rode our bicycle.

We had no mobile phones, but we always managed to find each other…. How?

We lost teeth, broke arms & legs, we got cuts and bruises and bloody noses…. nobody complained as we had so much fun, it wasn’t anybody’s fault, only ours

We ate everything in sight, cakes, bread, chocolate, ice-cream, sweet sugary drinks, fruits..yet, we stayed skinny by fooling around.

And if one of us was lucky to find a 1 litre coca cola bottle we all had a swig from it & guess what? Nobody picked up any germs…

We did not have Play Stations, MP3, Nintendo’s, I-Pods, Video games, 99 Cable TV channels, DVD’s, Home Cinema, Home Computers, Laptops, Chat-rooms, Internet, etc ..

BUT, we had REAL FRIENDS!!!!

We called on friends to come out to play, never rang the doorbell, just went around the backdoor…

We played with sticks and stones, played cowboys and Indians, doctors and nurses, hide and seek, soccer games, over and over again…

When we failed our exams we were given a second chance by simply repeating the same grade…without visiting psychiatrists, psychologists or counselors…

Such were the days…

We had freedom, success, disappointments and responsibilities. ..

What Stopped When I Stopped BLOGGING!!!

I had to take a break from Blogging for policing from Parents and Relatives… Yesterday I just realised how that break affected my personality alltogether…

  • When I blogged I enjoyed all the challenges, struggles and pains… These days I’ve become a angry and depressed….
  • When I blogged I use to observe all the small things that happens around me…  I missed to see a lot of good things around me these days….
  • When I blogged I’ve never been into boredom…. Blogging made me engaged all the times…
  • When I blogged I developed lots of hobbies…. I became a foodie, traveller, photographer, gardener etc…
  • When I blogged my vocabulary improved… I used to write all the new words I’ve come across…
  • When I blogged I was able to flush all the anger, agony and frustration… Off late my frustration levels are high…
  • When I blogged I used to read a lot… My reading habit has almost become defunct….
  • When I blogged I had the habit of sharing and compromising…. These days I’m getting selfish and self-centered…
  • When I blogged I learned from my mistakes… Not sure if I’m wise these days…
  • When I blogged I got lots of well washers like friends, relatives and unknown acquaintance… My friend base is stagnant these days…

Overall I’ve lost too meant things than I gained…

Went to college

After finishing my under graduation from Dhanraj Baid Jain College at Thoraipakkam(OMR) 13 years back… I had make a visit to apply for a duplicate Transfer Certificate…

A lot has changed in this 13 years…

  • The profile of the place… OMR is more of a village and all who where there were local villagers…
  • College had a deserted look with no maintainable….
  • College literally had no good infrastructure…
  • Students literally lacked discipline….

but I was thrilled to see a college which has got a real make over in terms of student discipline, infrastructure and more…

One thing  still remained was arrogant and tardy attitude of the admin staff… I had to slog and run pillar to post to get the degree….

Certain things were disrespectful and abuse of power… But I enjoyed being exploited and disrespected as we use to do such things as a student and I enjoyed those tasks as lived my student like for couple of minutes….

  • I was asked to deposit some money in the Bank (Personal task of the admin staff)…
  • I was asked to take them to tea stall and get the tea and snacks…
  • I was asked to drop them for lunch and pick them…

After all this I was finally given a Duplicate copy of TC…. I really don’t want to complain rather I want to thank the admin staff for giving me an opportunity to live a dream…

Facts how FBI & RAW were born

This post is going to be about a Master who excelled in his field and reached the International top 5 spot. A Master whom the Indian politicians wont speak about. A Master whom out of 1 billion Indians, only a few thousand or maybe few hundred know or heard about him! A Master whose work still impacts India and keeps its people secured.
But before talking about him let me talk about someone else. Another Master. Presently U.S.A is the most secured country. U.S.A and Israel are probably the only countries which are not controlled by other countries.
This is called Hegemony, where a government indirectly controls or influences another government. But this is the present, back in 1924 the United in the U.S.A was actually Unstable. The Unstable States of America!
There was great influence of both Nazi’s and Communist in the U.S.A. There were political parties that supported Stalin and parties that supported Hitler. There were gangster clans who used these parties to spread chaos and indulge in organised crime!
The Police system was corrupted. Government was corrupted. Crimes spread. Bomb Blasts everywhere. U.S.A was in chaos. History textbooks usually concentrate on U.S.A’s involvement in World Wars but nobody mentioned how unstable it was in its internal security.
From all these chaos there was this One Man who wanted to ensure security to Americans. Seeing all the chaos in the government and police departments he wanted to start a new department. A Department that concentrates on logical reasoning and scientific research in analyzing crimes and people.
From a very young age this man was interested in scientific research that when he joined Bureau of Investigation he was using scientific reasoning in all investigations. But he was laughed at. He lived with his mom. He loved her a lot. He never leaves her. He was ridiculed in both his work and personal life. This affected his emotional stability but he still continued his way of working.
But when the politics in the Bureau of Investigation reached its peak level. He said he had enough. He began to play his own politics. Ruthless Politics. And came up with a idea of a different department. A Department where he has complete control. A Department that can solve America’s internal security problems. So J.Edgar Hoover formed the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The FBI.
He was the first to introduce fingerprint scanning system. He was able to track down every criminal. His department has lot of scientific researches. His works is the basis of all the investigations present currently in all over the world.
He just didn’t solve crimes. He knew the political parties are powerful. So he devised methods to keep them in check. He was the head of FBI for 37 years. In his reign he found the personal lives of all the top powerful people, mostly about their illegitimate affairs with many women or their money making scandals or their very private gay life. He will use these information to blackmail them if they misuse their powers.
This included 6 U.S Presidents too. This man was actually controlling the American Presidents. But he doesnt literally control them but just in case if they misuse their powers, he will do some nasty things!
Martin Luther King Jr. The guy who is famous among blacks, the guy who fought for black rights had another side. He was a womaniser. Hoover found that out by keeping microphones in hotel rooms Martin used to visit. Hoover did this so that Martin doesnt start a Revolution in US using his huge black following. If this womaniser news is leaked then Martin will lose his political personality. Martin never misused his power so Hoover did not do anything. ( There is a lot of controversy behind this, just do some google searching if interested )
Hoover never married anyone and he was in power till his death at the age of 77. He dedicated his entire life for the security of his country. He used both legal and illegal methods to keep criminals and politicians in check.
His life was made into a movie titled “J.Edgar” and Leonardo DiCaprio played as J.Edgar Hoover!
Just like J.Edgar Hoover there was a man in India too. …. There Was!
Born in 1918 in Uttar Pradesh.
Got his Bachelor of Arts degree in Lucknow University.
Got his Masters in English Literature in Allahabad University.
After that he was pursing Law classes, but somewhere at that point in his life he decided to not pursue his life as a lawyer but as a police man.
In 1940 he joined Indian Imperial Police by writing a competitive exam and was posted as Assistant Superintendent of Police.
In 1947 when India got its Independence, he joined the Intelligence Bureau. I.B.
He was put in charge of VIP security. He was looking after the security of Jawaharlal Nehru, First Prime Minister of India and other key people.
Since he was a key figure in knowing the details of India’s VIPs, he kept a really private life. He never appeared in public for interviews.etc
In 1950s there were some diplomatic relations between India and Ghana. The Indian government sent him to setup a Intelligence Bureau for them. He went to Ghana and setup a really excellent Intelligence Bureau.
His name spread far and wide to Intelligence heads in other countries too. Even reached people like J.Edgar Hoover and his FBI and also the CIA of U.S.
When Indira Gandhi became the Prime Minister she knew that this man can be trusted and his talent should be used to the maximum. She knew the the Intelligence Bureau of India failed during the China-India War.
She and other political powers decided for a new Intelligence Department. She appointed him as its First Director.
Name of the Department: Research & Analysis Wing of India. a.k.a RAW
Name of the Person: Rameshwar Nath Kao a.k.a Kao
For those who still dont know what RAW is, its the CIA of India!
Kao is the real life James Bond.
Under his leadership RAW had so many spies who were called kaoboys!
Even though RAW was supposed to deal with External Intelligence, Kao concentrated even in internal intelligence, just to be sure!
Kao setup spies everywhere. In every Indian Political party, form top to bottom! In every important government organization.
Not just in India. Kao’s kaoboys were everywhere including China, Pakistan’s very own ISI had Kao’s spies. Kao had spies even in US’s CIA, Singapore, Japan.etc etc..
His intelligence organization was so efficient that he was called the Spymaster!
He also setup the Aviation Research Centre. Before satellites, aeroplanes were used to spy on other countries. Kao used MiG planes to spy on Pakistan & China!
The French external intelligence agency claimed Kao to be one of the five great intelligence chiefs of the 1970s!
“Normally, Kao’s was the last appointment of the day with Mrs Gandhi, when all her other engagements were finished,” remembers a politician close to the Gandhi family.
There is thing about the criminal Dawood Ibrahim that he manages every organized crime of his in India via phone call from his hideout. Well his ways are nothing compared to Kao!
Here is a statement by the Chairman of Joint Intelligence Committee:
“His contacts the world over, particularly in Asia—Afghanistan, Iran, China, you name it—were something else. He could move things with just one phone call. He was a team leader who rode out notorious inter-departmental and inter-service rivalries, which is commonplace in India.”
Kao found out that China has an eye for Sikkim. It was he who urged the Indian government to act on Sikkim or else we will lose it!
Kao’s intelligence was the key factor in the Bangladesh liberation war. For those who forgot history, Bangladesh was once called East Pakistan and it was controlled by the mainland Pakistan. But there were many revolts and differences between the West and the East. There were many mass killings and brutal rapes. Pakistan did not bother about the security of East Pakistan but yet wanted full control!
Kao had two options. Wait for the Indian Government to help the East Pakistanis.. or setup an illegal army in East Pakistan and arm their citizens!
He setup a illegal army of Bangladeshis to fight against their Pakistan controlled Government!
Later India decided the war!
………..
Kao later retired after Indira Gandhi lost power. He knew her enemies will give some serious troubles to him as he was close to Indira Gandhi and knew every confidential information.
Kao was now pretty much retired. But that did not stop him.
Learning about the atrocities in Sri Lanka faced by the Tamils, its was Kao who helped Vellupillai Prabhakaran and his LTTE to setup intelligence and arming them. His intelligence and warfare techniques formed the basis of LTTE’s foundation that it was helping LTTE till 2009. They started to fail only when Sri Lanka allied with China. Its only with the Chinese help that Sri Lanka defeated Vellupillai Prabhakaran!
And RAW is not the only organization Kao founded. There is one more!
I am pretty sure you will know this one.
Back in 1980s when someone tells “Terrorists” , its not Muslims that comes to mind, but its the Sikhs!.. Terrorism is a word associated with many people over the years. Actually the word terrorists and assasins comes from Jews! They were the world’s first organized Terrorists, they were terrorizing the Roman Empire!.
Anyways, when there was Internal Terrorism, Kao realised that Police is not enough. So he used all his political powers to convince the government to setup:
National Security Guard! N.S.G !! ( The guys who captured Kasab and killed his friends )
Both RAW and NSG has been really influential in India and its security!
We all know pretty much how advanced US’s CIA and FBI are because of those fancy Hollywood movies. Well here is the power of India’s RAW! Hope someone makes a movie about Kao!
Kao is a intense private man. There are just 2 photographs of him. And here is one of them ->http://bit.ly/SWj3Y7
Note: There is also one more Master whom I would like to analyze. But his analysis will involve a very big post. Which I intend to post in a Facebook Page I created. Please like it if you have’nt yet. Unlike Kao I am pretty sure everybody knows who he is, but everybody sees his achievements but nobody sees his childhood, his hard years and his magnificient Mind. In future after his death, neuroscientists will dissect his brain to analyse its power! Will keep you posted on it.

Surprise from a CCD friend

A surprise from a CCD Friend...
A surprise from a CCD Friend…

It was the first time I took my wife out for a drive… I wanted to sit in a peaceful environment and wanted to discuss a lot of things… I zeroed in on the CCD which is on Motel Higghway at Nazrathpet…

When I entered I was surprised to see a friend who was in Sriperambudur joint… Firstly I was feeling guilty as I forgot to invite him for my marriage… Infact my marriage happened against lots of odds… He immediately made me fee free and congrajulated us… Then I placed my order and took my wife to the table and started discussing about things I wanted…

Normally a cappuccino comes with a heart or leaf as design… My friend surprised my wife with this stuff… In fact he made me feel proud and happy in frient of my wife… Lot of small things can make a big impact… That is what happened that day…

I’d like to thank my friend for the gesture and this image would find a place in my album… It would definately be cherished forever….

Prenuptial Agreement

I was going through an article about the growing Divorce Cases in India… Also some of my friends who have applied for a divorce told me how the law is one sided towards… Also our legal system is very vintage and not upgraded to the times…

Considering the reality and leaving away the emotional part it is always better to have a exit clause attached to a marriage… Exit clause are common in Business Partnerships…

When I went and further researched about exit clause in Marriage Agreement I came across the term “[wptabtitle] prenup, premarital agreement, antenuptial agreement[/wptabtitle] [wptabcontent]Prenuptial Agreement[/wptabcontent]” which is very common agreement signed between the newly wed during the time of marriage…

A prenuptial agreement, antenuptial agreement, or premarital agreement, commonly abbreviated to prenup or prenupt, is a contract entered into prior to marriage, civil union or any other agreement prior to the main agreement by the people intending to marry or contract with each other. The content of a prenuptial agreement can vary widely, but commonly includes provisions for division of property and spousal support in the event of divorce or breakup of marriage. They may also include terms for the forfeiture of assets as a result of divorce on the grounds of adultery; further conditions of guardianship may be included as well.

This agreement has been integrated with couple of religions like islam & judaism and agreement will be read before the marriage… Also a lot of western countries have started to legalize this agreement…

As far as I read this agreement is not valid in India (this is just an information i got it from net and not confirmed from legal experts)… There are lot of people who have started to advocate the need for this agreement and I’m support this agreement to be legalized in India and help save lots of couple fight and loose fortune in legal battle…

Success = Learning from Whom + How to Practice

1.) King Philips was a womanizer. He was addicted to women. He married many women, he was not satisfied. He had many mistresses, nothing satisfied his lust for women. This was surely not a big problem for him, but it ended up to be a problem to his wives and mistresses who gave birth to his children. Philips had many legitimate and illegitimate sons and daughters. And he was a King. And every mother of his kids wanted the throne for their child!
Olympias was one of Philips’s wives and had one son. She was a practical woman. She knew that “the throne will not come to her son, but only he needs to go and get it!”
Unlike the other wives and mistresses, Olympias prepared her son right from an early age. She made him BELIEVE that he will be the next King and one day, an Emperor! She induced a big behaviour change in her child. She was treating him like a King.
But she also knew just because one believes he is a King doesnt mean he can become one. She knew that her son needs to learn a lot. More practical things from an experienced man. She did not want her son to become a womanizer like his father. So she went on search for a mentor. And she found Aristotle. Aristotle was the best student of Plato. Plato was a polymath, he wrote books about politics, love.etc etc. And Plato was the dearest student of Socrates!

With his mother’s confidence and his mentor’s teachings, no wonder the young boy became the next King at the age of 20 and also an Emperor who was called “Alexander The Great”.

2.) Every director admires the work of Alfred Hitchcock. His movies are really natural, totally out of box. His movies never communicated anything, his movies made people experience emotions.
When he was 6, his father sent him to the police station with a note. The inspector read the note and told him “You have been a very bad boy” and locked him up in a prison cell.
In a young age, Hitchcock was made to sit inside a cell. With so many scary huge authority figures near him. This made him think a lot. This brought him so many emotions. So many thoughts. This conditioned him!
Unlike other parents who beated or scolded their kids, Hitchcock’s dad made him feel emotions. His dad knew that physical and verbal arguments will only make Hitchcock rebellious. But putting him in a deep terror state conditioned him!
Hitchcock perfected this trick which he learned form his dad while growing up. He was able to put his actors in the same kind of state, using different techniques to different people. Other directors were scolding their actors but he was conditioning him. Before a movie Hitchcock will plan certain things, like making the actor stay in a hotel room for days without meeting anyone.etc etc. and induce emotions in the actor and condition them. Hitchcock directed his movies by teaching his actors, by inducing the feel of the movie in them. And this induced the feel of the movie in the audience!

3.) Unlike Hitchcock and Alexander, Siddharta Gautama Buddha didnt have a noteworthy person to mentor him. He had to learn from the most supreme teacher of all -> Life!
His goal was to find the meaning of life. He realised that material life is not everything and wanted to know the true meaning of life. He had no proper guide, he had to try them all. He tried the teachings of many sages, he experimented with Yoga, read the Vedic scriptures.etc etc.. He gained a vast knowledge and he also implemented them. And after so many years of experimenting which included rigourous physical activities. He went into a forest and comtemplated quietly. Conditioning his thoughts. Revising all his learnings and experience. He figured out what he wanted! He achieved his goal! He felt satisfaction! He felt completeness in his life! He achieved euphoria, which is a medically recognized human emotion which gives intense feelings of well-being, elation, happiness, excitement, and joy. At that time there were no medical research on it, he did not know that it was euphoria, he called it Enlightenment!

Conclusion:
In ancient times not everyone got a mentor like Aristotle, and even now not everyone gets a parent like Olympias or Hitchcock’s father, who were really practical.
In today’s world, we have access to different kind of mentors. We have books, Internet, Youtube Videos.etc etc.
So you need to go Siddharta’s way, you need to experiment. Spend time in developing yourself. Conditioning Yourself.

But remember! You are learning all by yourself, You dont have much time like Siddartha had. This is a modern fast moving world!. You need to be careful in choosing your mentors. You need to validate what you learn from a person or book.

Buddha said “Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”

Buddha thought material life is not the true meaning of life. Thats because he experienced everything!. In a young age he had access to rich food, clothes. He was a Prince! He had three castles. A Harem full of beautiful women. Married to a beautiful girl in the age of 16!. He experienced everything in a very young age! Of course material life bored him!. But you are not a Prince! So just dont blindly follow Buddha or anybody’s teachings. It worked for them, it doesnt mean it will work for you!. Buddha knows this, and thats why he said that statement that you read a few lines back!

Your success depends on what you learn from whom, and how you practice, no magic!

Qualities of a Leader

“Becoming the Person Others Will Want to Follow” – John C. Maxwell

“If you can become the leader you ought to be on the inside, you will be able to become the person you want on the outside. People will want to follow you. And when that happens, you’ll be able to tackle anything in this world.”

1. Character: Be a Piece of the Rock

“Leadership is the capacity and will to rally men and women to a common purpose and the character which inspires confidence.” – British Field Marshal

What must everyone know about character?

Actions are the Real Indicator of Character Talent is a Gift, but Character is a Choice Character Brings Lasting Success with People Strong Character is the Foundation on which to Build Success

2. Charisma : The First Impression Can Seal the Deal

“How can you have charisma? Be more concerned about making others feel good about themselves than you are making them feel good about you.” – Vice President of Leadership Development, INJOY

“When it comes to charisma, the bottom line is other mindedness. Leaders who think about others and their concerns before thinking of themselves exhibit charisma.” – John C. Maxwell

3. Commitment: It separates Doers from Dreamers

To the boxer, it’s getting off the mat one more time than you’ve been knocked down. To the marathoner, it’s running another ten miles when your strength is gone. To the solider, it’s going over the hill, not knowing what’s waiting on the other side. To the leader, it’s all that and more because everyone you lead it depending on you

Improve your Commitment

Look at how you spend your time, are you really committed or do you just say you are?

Know what’s worth dying for. Practice the Edison method. Make your plans public, then you might be morecommitted to follow through.

4. Communication: Without It You Travel Alone

Simplify your Message- It’s not what you say, but also how you say it.

Really Care about your Audience

Show the Truth- Believe what you say, Live what you say

Seek a Response- the goal of all communication is action

Developing excellent communication skills is absolutely essential to effective leadership. The leader must be able to share knowledge and ideas to transmit a sense of urgency and enthusiasm to others. If a leader can’t get a message across clearly to motivate others to act on it, then having a message doesn’t even matter.” – Gilbert Amelio

5. Competence: If you build it, they will come

“Competence goes beyond words. It’s the leader’s ability to say it, plan it, and do it in such a way that others know that you know how- and know that they want to follow you.”

Keys to Cultivate High Competence

Show up Every Day & Come Ready to Work Keep Learning, Growing, and Improving Follow Through with Excellence Accomplish More than Expected Inspire and Motivate Others.

6. Courage: One Person with Courage is a Majority

“Courage is fear that has said its prayers.” – Swiss Theologian

Courage is doing what you’re afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you’re scared.”

“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you cannot do.”

7. Discernment: Put an End to Unsolved Mysteries

“Smart leaders believe only half of what they hear. Discerning leaders know which have to believe.”

Effective leaders need discernment, although even good leaders don’t display it all the time.

Examples of Famous last words:

“I think there is a world market for about five computers.” – Thomas J. Watson, chairman of IBM.(1943)

“I don’t need bodyguards.” – Jimmy Hoffa, one month before disappearance (1975)

8. Focus: The Sharper It Is; The Sharper You Are

The Keys are

Priorities and Concentration

A leader who knows what his priorities are but lacks concentration knows what to do but never gets it done. If he has concentration but no priorities, he has excellence without progress. But when he harnesses both, he has potential to achieve great things.

How should you focus your time and energy?

Focus 70 Percent on Strengths Develop them to their fullest potential

Focus 25 Percent on New Things Growth = Change

Focus 5 Percent on Areas of Weakness Minimize weaknesses as much as possible, delegate

9. Generosity: Your Candle Loses Nothing When It Lights Another

“No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.” C, American President

“All that is not given is lost.” R, Indian Poet

Cultivate the Quality of Generosity in Your Life

Be Grateful For What You Have Put People First Don’t Allow the Desire for Possessions to Control You Regard Money as a Resource Develop the Habit of Giving.

10. Initiative: You Won’t Leave Home Without It

“Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.” – C, Hotel Executive

Qualities Leaders Posses To Make Things Happen

They Know What They Want ; They Push Themselves to Act;  They Take More Risks; They Make More Mistakes.

11. Listening: To Connect With Their Hearts, Use Your Ears

You have to be silent to listen. Both words are formed from the same letters.

S-i-l-e-n-t

L-i-s-t-e-n

“The ear of the leader must ring with the voices of the people.”

“A good leader encourages followers to tell him what he needs to know, not what he wants to hear.” – John C. Maxwell

12. Passion: Take This Life and Love It

“Concentrate on what you do well, and do it better than anybody else.”

What makes it possible for people who might seem ordinary to achieve great things?

Fact: More than 50% of all CEOs of Fortune 500 companies had C or C- averages in college

Fact: Nearly 75% of all U.S. Presidents were in the bottom half of their school classes

Fact: More than 50% of all millionaires entrepreneurs never finished college

They All Had Passion, It Makes A Difference!

13. Positive Attitude: If You Believe You Can, You Can

Your Attitude Is a Choice

Your Attitude Determines Your Actions

Your People Are a Mirror of Your Attitude

Maintaining a Good Attitude Is Easier Than Regaining One

Words of Wisdom Thomas Edison

“Genius is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration.”

“If we did all the things we were capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.”

“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when the gave up.”

14. Problem Solving: You Can’t Let Your Problems Be A Problem

“You can measure a leader by the problems he tackles. He always looks for ones his own size.”

Leaders With Good Problems Solving Abilities Demonstrate Five Qualities

They Anticipate Problems

They Accept the Truth

They See the Big Picture

They Handle One Thing At a Time

They Don’t Give Up On a Major Goal

When They’re Down

15. Relationships:

If You Get Along, They’ll Get Along

“The most important single ingredient in the formula of success is knowing how to get along with people.” – Theodore Roosevelt, American President

All people have some things in common

They like to feel special, so sincerely compliment them.

They want a better tomorrow, so show them hope.

They desire direction, so navigate for them.

They are selfish, so speak to their needs first.

They get low emotionally, so encourage them.

They want success, so help them win.

16. Responsibility: If You Won’t Carry the Ball, You Can’t Lead the Team

“ Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibility. . . In the final analysis, the one quality that all successful people have is the ability to take on responsibility.”

Are You On Target When It Comes To Responsibility?

“When an archer misses the mark he turns and looks for fault within himself. Failure to hit the bull’s-eye is never the fault of the

target. To improve your aim, improve yourself.” – G, Gilbert Arland

17. Security:

Competence Never Compensates For Insecurity

“No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself or get all the credit for doing it.”

Margaret Thatcher, world leader

“You don’t follow the crowd, you make up your own mind.”

“Words of encouragement from own mind.”

Words of encouragement from her father She stood for conviction in leadership. The “Iron Lady” was elected three consecutive terms as prime minister. The ONLY British leader of modern era to achieve that great honor.

18. Self-Discipline: The First Person You Lead Is You

“A man without a decision of character can never be said to belong to himself. . . He belongs to whatever can make captive of him.”

“Don’t quit, because once you in that mode of quitting, then you feel like it’s okay.” J, Best Ever Wide Receiver

19. Servanthood: To Get Ahead, Put Others First

“I don’t know what your destiny will be, but one thing I know: The ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.”

“The true leader serves. Serves people. Serves their best interests, and in so doing will not always be popular, may not always impress. But because true leaders are motivated by loving concern rather than a desire for personal glory, they are willing to pay the price.”

20. Teachability: To Keep Leading, Keep Learning

“It’s what you learn after you know it all that counts.”

Why Should You Keep Growing?

Your growth determines who you are.

Who you are determines who you attract.

Who you attract determines the success of your organization.

If you want your organization to grow, you have to remain teachable.

21. Vision: You Can Seize Only What You Can See

“A great leader’s courage to fulfill his vision comes from passion, not position.”

Vision is everything for a leader.

It leads the leader.

It paints the target.

It sparks and fuels the fire within, and draws him forward.

It is also the fire lighter for others who follow that leader.

23. Remember

“If you can dream it, you can do it.”
