10 Reasons To Date An Entrepreneur

1 – Their sense of possibility.  To date someone who accepts no limitations means that there is no end to how much they are capable of loving you.

2 – They see things in ways that others don’t and understand the power of thought and faith to offer an entirely fresh and inspiring view of a challenging situation.

3 – They know the true meaning of commitment and persistence to an idea – a love – far bigger than themselves.

4 – They attract and draw into their world new people, experiences and opportunities that make every day of being with them a continual adventure.

5 – Their vision for the world extends to a vision of long-term relationships and family life no less important than their cause, but as equal to and intrinsic to working together to contribute to the betterment of humanity.

6 – They have seen failure and know that it is never what defines a man or a woman.  It is their ability to get back up, with integrity, humility and service to a higher cause that builds the character and loyalty necessary for life-long commitment.

7 – They are passionate souls with tonnes of energy and a great love and lust for life…..and we know how important that is for the more, erm, intimate areas of a relationship…..!

8 – They know the value of partnership in getting things done, the power of teamwork necessary to build something of mutual value.

9 – They know how sometimes you just have to hang in there, work really hard and keep trusting the original love for the vision/person and what drew you to it/them in the first place……and it will turn out with way more blessings than you can imagine.

Impressive THANKSGIVING from Pinterest Team

Read ThanksGiving email sent by PINTEREST team and it is really impressive and motivating…

Two years ago, I was sitting with my family on Thanksgiving Day trying to come up with a name for a new website I’d been working on with my friends Paul and Evan. My girlfriend Divya (now my wife!) suggested “Pinterest” after watching a commercial starring The Most Interesting Man in the World. Four months later, we sent an email to our friends and family to try out Pinterest.

It has been rewarding and exciting to watch Pinterest grow from a site used by just a few dozen friends, to a community with millions of creative and passionate people. It’s humbling to see people using Pinterest to redecorate their homes, plan family dinners, or just find a little daily inspiration.

As our team here in Palo Alto heads home for Thanksgiving, we wanted to say a big thank you for joining Pinterest during these early days. We know there have been bugs and hiccups. There are times when the site is slow, or an occasional pin goes missing. These are problems that we experience first-hand, and we’re working hard to get them fixed.

Despite growing pains, we’ve been amazed by the ever- upbeat and positive Pinterest community. We know there’s a lot of work ahead of us, but we’ve never been more excited or optimistic. We hope you’ll continue sending us your suggestions and inviting your friends.

From everyone here in sunny Palo Alto, thanks!

🙂

Missing Chennai Rains

For someone who hails from Chennai can understand the importance of rains… I’m fond of rains for many reasons;

  • I’ve seen the impact of water shortage during summer…
  • I use to get 2-3 days of holiday during my school due to rain…
  • My college will become an island and it would stay like this for at least a month or two… I’ve even travelled in a boat once… We see kids fishing during this time…
  • Rains make city look green as all the trees and plants will be covered by smoke and dust… It makes mind fresh

Though rains in Chennai paralises our life due to water logs, tree falls, drainage overflow, bad roads et more… I still love rains because it of lots of nostalgic memories where we use to stock snacks and play indoor games, adventurously driving my car on flooded roads etc…

I don’t remember a time where I stayed away from Chennai during November when it normally rains… Even during 2008 I went to Chennai and 26/11 Mumbai shoot out happened then… I was watching TV coverage whole day as it was raining heavily outside…

This is the first time I’m away from the City and November rains… I really miss Chennai Rains :((…

Ashamed being Tamilian for banning DAM 999

When i came to know TN government has banned releasing the movie DAM 999, I was deeply shocked and ashamed for my state governments act… It makes no sense to ban a movie assuming it might be influenced by Keralites… Even if the assumption goes Right; who are Keralites?? aren’t they Indians… Again it is bonanza time for politicians for getting an opportunity to polarise our country…

It is very sad to see we have not integrated as a nation… We are always exploited by our political bosses who want to polarize the nation… It is sad that we still don’t have a common Indian identity which makes us all proud… We don’t have common festivals like THANKS GIVING…

I personally don’t endorse the state governments act which i voted to power… I wish our leaders watch this video on Nation building…

My next venture would be on BIO Fuel / Energy

These am intensely doing research on BIO Fuel and BIO Energy… Me along with a friend have decided to do a pilot project for next six months on this…

Today my friend visited me to Coimbatore and we had nice half day conversation… We collaborated all the information we have done till date…

Again we are meeting in Chennai during 1st Dec and we might. One up with a clear road map for next 6 months… In coming months will update you all about the nuances Bio Fuel & Energy…

Forsee a need for leaders in Cogzidel

A lot of our initiatives are slowly yielding dividends and with my gut intuition if everything’s well we might need to expand our team drastically…

For now we are well placed in filling slots with freshers but with experienced we really slog it out… If things catch up we might have to triple our operations team size…

But such a drastic growth will create a huge imbalance until we start working on our people’s leadership skills… We must even work hard with our existing leaders to enhance their skills…

So, what is it that is expected out of a LEADER???

  • Must be a risk taker….
  • Must be a decision maker and take hard decisions during tough situations…
  • Must be communicative with his team, managers, client and support departments…
  • Love failure and must quickly take lessons and fix them or take control over situation…
  • Good in team building…
  • Speed in executing new things, in learning…
  • Ability to take control over situations…
  • Must be a good Learner…

It is time to look for talents who has the zeal to become a leader… From then have a herculian task in the training process and am expecting the support of my HR to make things a success…

Busy Monday

Got up by 8 AM and immediately stung into routine and got ready by 9.30AM… Then started the day by receiving a call from my BDE team leader Senthil and from then I wound me calls by 6.30 in the evening with a 20 min lunch break… So, who all I spoke to?? Let me list for my records;

1.) Senthil – Business Development Team Lead CT
2.) Ramesh – Products Team Head CT
3.) BalaKrishnan – VP Marketing CT
4.) BalaMurugan – CEO CCS
5.) Major Karthik – Head Of Operations Madurai CT
6.) Vaidegi – SMM CCS
7.) Sangeetha – Delivery Head CCS
8.) Meena – HR CT

And by the time it was evening and checked my email, FB and made some calls to friends… Then again it ws calling time with night shift folks for assigning task and collection updates… Overall the day ran without any stress or strain…

Thanks Sushma & Karthik for making my day enjoyable

The day started without much hype or enthusiasm… My mom asked if I wanted to join them for shopping and I promptly denied…

Was thinking on ways to be engaged during the day… That is when I got a call from Gopiraj an acquaintance(Karthicks friend) enquiring about my progress and he asked for my address to visit me…

In couple of hours my aunt said I had some I had some visitors and I didn’t expect in dream that it was Sushma & Karthik… I was speechless for some time and really humbled as they drove from Chennai – Coimbatore just to see me…

Then Karthik asked if he can take me out and I was doubly thrilled… After convincing my mom I got the permission to go out…

I wore my shorts and rolled a shawl around me… The dressing combination was so pathetic and even I couldn’t bare my attire but I had no choice…

First we went to a Reebok store to buy a tracks and my agony started here as the security came inside asking what was I hiding inside the shawl… Then after showing my injured shoulder he apologised…

From there I took them to RS Puram and I made a lot of mess on the route and took them in a wrong route… Finally we reached RS Puram by asking for right route from the cops…

Since Sushma wanted to visit Brookefield Mall we didn’t get down and instead we drove to the mall… I was feeling soo awkward with my attire and my friends forced me inside the mall…

Likewise most of the eye balls were on my awkward dressing… Everyone was wondering why this guy was wearing a shawl when it was hot outside…

Then went inside Nike showroom and both the attenders gave me a damn and they were busy attending other customers… Then I asked one of them if they could assist me and he attended me without any interest… When I enquired about a basketball trouser; he said it was 1300 bucks with a ugly expression… When I asked him to bill ot and gave my cars he was startled for a moment..

Then when I tried to sign the counter file my shawl fell down and only the he realised I was injured… Immediately attention of both the attenders were on me to cross sell :)…

Then went to Tommy HilFiger and thought would have same reception… But I was carried away as they didn’t show any prejudice seeing my attire… THen I got a stroll from there… Then we went round the mall and started back… As always we thought of asking for a discount while paying for the parking and we were mouth shut when we were just charged 10 bucks unlike in Chennai where malls do day light robbery on parking fee…

Then we went to Hotel Reaidency for lunch and I was given a pleasent welcome by the staff… But after having lunch and while we were walking back 3 ladies were talking in telegu and were mocking at me… The funny aspect was both my friends mother tongue is telegu and they understood the mockery they made and translated it to me… It seems they were asking if is it severing that much??? And they were all looking at me and laughing…

After hearing them and seeing them curiously watching me we 3 started laughing even bigger which made them feel shy / embarrassed and they walked away…

Then they dropped me in my house and they drove back to Chennai… Though it was a small 3 hour time out it was really memorable and I really enjoyed seeing people showing different reactions on seeing me…

I really thank Karthik and Sushme for giving me such a wonderful experience and for visiting me…

Hence forth I’ve decided to wear crazy outfits and confuse people… I really enjoyed the experience of being in an embarrassment :))…

A non boring day

Woke up early in the morning as I was eager to get discharged… Though I loved to stay in the hospital for the hospitality and pretty mallu nurses…

From the morning it was too engaging as mom my came to hospital to take the reins of responsibility from my father… Then I it was time to dress up the operated place by the junior doctor…

Then it was some councelling session from the senior doctor on the progress and fuTure…

Then it was physiotherapist turn to teach me some exercise which I have to do until next follow up… Though painful and tough it is very important because operated wounds will heel in 10 days… But recovery lies on the exercise I do… This night be the longest rehab process…

Then it was dietician who advised on the diet to be followed during the time of recovery… As always they asked to avowed fried and junk foods as they slow the heeling process…

Then I asked to take a x-ray and I didn’t know who reviewed it.. Then bill got ready and we vacated by 1 PM…

From there went to medical store in Ramanathapuram, Coimbatore where medicines are sold at 16% discount and we brought all the medicines here instead of the pharmacy in the hospital…

Then went to Supermarket and Fruit shop to get things for next 4 days… From there staight we came to my uncles house…

Then it was some time for office work and by now it was evening… My dad was preparing to travel back to Chennai and was advising me to be responsible during the rehab process… After doing my exercise, dad’s sendoff and after watching the movie Walking Tall… I’m signing off this day with this blog…
