Partying Networking & Reunion

Last two days I’ve been partying hard and networked a lot and got reunited with my old friends. Yesterday being a Saturday I got a call from a friend who invited me to join his friends in a party in Asiana in OMR. I’m visiting the hotel for the first time and got linked with the Landlord of the Hotel & other entrepreneur folks.

It was fun time there because the Landlord was one of the committee members to select the live band in the Pub. The girls singing dedicated all songs to us because of Hari. Also I’m going to the Hotel for first time and it is really mind blowing interiors and experience.

From there we had a choice of going to a Movie or to goto Pasha. We choose to goto Pasha and we picked my friends Girl Friends. This time I remembered my mentor and I invited him to Pasha.

My mentor was happy about my comeback and he enjoyed his drink and dance. For some reason floor was closed by 12 o clock and we went for dinner and while dropping those girls I crashed my car while taking reverse.

Morning work-up only hearing the yelling of my mom. Thank god I’ve a supportive sister who came to my rescue. I promised to take her to her Idol Vijay’s movie. Thank god she had some other commitment.

I got a call from one of the friend whom I met yesterday to join them for a house party. I went to his posh bungalow in Thambaram. This time most of them people networked are Compire, Serial Directors & actors. They were all drunk and I was unable to catch-up with them. Over all I didn’t enjoy the evening.

Then from there we went to watch the movie which I promised to take my sister and you can see the review I posted for Vetaikaran.

I must thank my position as CEO of Software Company which startles when I get introduced. People immediately befriend me and call me next day asking if there is any vacancy for their friend / relative.

Over all I enjoyed the party and networking. Now it is time to start forth coming week with a bang.

Vetaikaran Sucks

I don’t know what is happening to Vijay these days. His latest release Vetaikaran Sucks big time. I use to get surprised how someone without any personality of ability to act in his early days can make it this big (Kudos to his parents).

I can say there was nothing right with Vetaikaran. There is a big list to say sucking things;

  • The movie looks like Telegu movies of the 90’s.
  • Heroin is added just for the heck of it.
  • Scenes are too dramatic.
  • No continuity.
  • Villians getup looks funny and they end up being comedians.
  • Vijay using alcohol and lighter to kill a Villan peaks the comedy.
  • Heroism beyond acceptance.
  • Costumes & Hero’s getup takes back to late 80’s Ramarajan times.
  • Comedy scenes end up as pain in the neck. Hero & serious scenes fills the Gap left by comedians.

We can add more to the list but I don’t want to take that much pain to recollect the entire movie and put myself in to a bad position.

In spite of all these minuses there is couple of positives like;

  • Anuksha Shetty.
  • Vijay Antony’s music.

Retiring from Twitter

Yes all good things must come to an end. That applies to my tweeting too. It all started a year and half back where in I started tweeting actively. Twitter was a means to pass my time and it really helped me to share my thoughts, feeling and emotions. Also I got lots of friends because of Twitter.

Last year same time when I was feeling lonely in Madurai which was a new place for me, my only companion was twitter.

In spite of gaining so much from twitter. Why I wanted to quit?

There are multiple reasons which forced me to take this call;

  • Twitter has become too huge and chaos.
  • It has become a platform for Spamming.
  • Not longer I feel lonely.
  • My business schedule has become tight and time for twitting has come down.
  • I’ve developed too many hobbies and that has resulted in diluting my interest to tweet.
  • Though I’m an open person I was forced to come down on my tweet because of competitors.
  • Twitter becomes an addict which has taken a toll on my work and sleep.
  • Couple of people started complaining that I’m flooding their timeline with my tweets.
  • Thought my thinking and way to express things improved. My grammar has become poor for trying to fit things into 140 words.
  • Finally most of my friends too have reduced their tweeting and as a result no one is keeping me engaged.

So, what I mean is I’m not totally quitting Twitter. I’m not going to be an active & consistent participant. I might occasionally tweet and share my feeds as tweets.

I take this opportunity to thank everyone who have encouraged me, motivated me all through.

ZENCART FLV PLAYER ADD ON

I heard from my friend that a FLV player add-on for Zencart has been released recently.  In fact, I had been searching for a good FLV player add on for my website, which is an Ecommerce website built on Zencart.  I wanted a FLV player add on to showcase my products in a video demo, but unfortunately, I did not find a suitable add on.  Since I heard from my friend about this new player add on, I felt curious to find about the quality, and downloaded the plugin from this link – http://www.hdflvplayer.net/zencart/  To my astonishment, the FLV player was of high definition quality and had so many options that I never heard of !!!   In fact, until now, I do not know how many features this product has.  It was very easy to download and install.

In the free download version, the logo of the company is present, “HD FLV Player Demo.”  I contacted the support team from www.hdflvplayer.net and they said that it comes as part of the free trial, and and also informed me that the commercial version will not be having this logo.  Since I was very much impressed with the quality that I expected, I went ahead and bought the commercial version, and now, I have installed it in my website and successfully showcasing my products in a video demo.

I strongly recommend this player to anyone who wishes to get a FLV player add on to Zencart websties, it is simply amazing.

Kids are Smart

Once a boy went to a shop with his mother. The shop keeper looked at the small cute child and showed him a bottle with sweets and said ‘Dear Child..u can take the sweets.

But the child didnt take. The shop keeper was surprised. Such a small child he is and why is he not taking the sweets from the bottle. Again he said take the sweets.

Now the mother also heard that and said.. take the sweets dear. Yet he didnt take. The shopkeeper seeing the child not taking the sweets. He himself took the sweets and gave to the child. The child was happy to get two hands full of sweets.

While returning  home the Mother asked the child… Why didnt you take the sweets, when  the shop keeper told you to take?

Can you guess the response:
Child replies… Mom! my hands are very small and if i take the sweets i can only take few.. but now you see when uncle gave with his big hands. How many more sweets i got!

Moral:

When we take we may get little but when God or Supreme Authority gives… HE gives us more beyond our expectations. more than what we can hold..!!

Ente Keralam Experience

Last week I went to Ente Keralam restaurant at Poes Garden for Dinner along with my CFO Mr.Bala Murugan. We have passed that way a many times and we always think we have to visit that restaurant once. But every time when we were hungry this restaurant doesn’t strike us and we visit normal Saravana Bhavan or some other restaurants.

Last week after a hectic day I & Bala thought we needed to get out for dinner to relax. Surprisingly Bala remembered about Ente Keralam & we immediately drove from office to the restaurant.

Immediately entering the restaurant I was carried away by the ambience. It gave a feeling as if we have entered into Kerala. After getting settled we were so hungry that we ordered immediately. Bala said Kerala is known for Stew and we ordered for Appam, 1 Veg Stew & 1 Chicken Stew.

I was so hungry that I was unable to wait till the food comes. By that time they kept two varieties of Kerala Chips as Complimentary for Starters. This helped me to half fill my stomach.

Then arrived Appam & Veg Stew and it was so delicious. Bala was also happy with Chicken Stew. Then I ordered Fruit Punch as dessert & Bala ordered Payasam and both were a treat to our taste buds.

Finally we got bill which was also nominal. So this place has got thumbs up from us and we will frequent this place to try other recipes too in future.

Upon going through the menu we came to know this restaurant is a part of Oriental Cuisines which runs China Town, Zara Tapas, Hot Breads, Benjarong in Chennai.

If you want to visit this place here is the address;

Rocket Singh Review

Rocket Singh: Salesman of the year simply rocks. I really loved the movie as I can draw lots of parallels to the movie and my life.

I don’t have words to describe the acting skills of Ranbir Kapoor and I’m becoming his fan. He has shown so much maturity and versatility in his acting. I think he has given 3 successful movies in this year alone. And I’m sure this kid is to travel a long way in his career.

Talking about the director Shimit Amin we have to say he has given yet another spectacular movie after Ab Tak Chappan & Chak De! India and I’ve loved watching both the movies. Now this guy has joined my favorite directors list and will watch all the movies which come from him.

I must say it is a low budget movie, has very realistic scenes and duly supported by casts.

Here is the Plot (Courtesy: Wikipedia)

Harpreet Singh Bedi (Ranbir Kapoor) is an aspiring salesman working in a computer firm called AYS (At Your Service). His boss insults and sidelines him when his refusal to bribe a customer costs the company dear. Boss’s anger results in extra workload for Harpreet’s colleagues and they vent their frustration by throwing paper rockets at him at work.

Koena (Gauhar Khan), another dissatisfied employee, gives him a sales opening. Soon Harpreet is running a parallel business in the name of Rocket Sales Corporation with the help of other dissatisfied employees and resources of the company. He has pangs of conscience about misusing the company’s facilities, and once decides to tell all to the boss, but drops the idea when the boss insults him severely.

Rocket Sales Corporation is soon doing well with Harpreet, Koena, Chhote Lal Mishra the office peon and Giri the service engineer. They are discovered by the sales manager Nitin Rathore, but he too joins them. Rocket sales Corporation starts doing well enough to make a serious dent into sales of AYS.

Puri, the boss at AYS, finds out the identity of the people at Rocket Sales Corporation and files a police case against them. Harpreet agrees to sell his business to AYS as a deal to drop the charges. Puri is pleased to acquire the successful rival business, but he soon learns that he can’t match the service and quality Harpreet’s team was giving to the customers. One by one, customers of Rocket Sales Corporation desert AYS.

In the final denouement Puri has a change of heart and accepts defeat. Harpreet and his friends get their business back. Along the way love blossoms between Harpreet and Sherena, who happened to be his first customer.

I must say this is a must watch movie.

CEO LifeStyle’09 Outcome

As an outcome of visiting CEO LifeStyle’09 I got more inclined to;

  • Buying a Yacht. The way it was displayed carried me away and I immediately enquired the price. An base model of Yacht costs Rs.15,00,000/- and the maintenance is only Rs50,000/- PA. Also the dealers will take care of getting clearance from all regulators. Now I’ve set an additional goal of buying a Yacht within next 5 years.
  • Buying an in-house Golf course. Even this was displayed in the stall and I might buy it by next month. The entire Kit costs Rs.10,000/-
  • Then I came across a cigar stall. Thought I don’t smoke I like to collect and I got the address of the store so that I can start my collection.
  • Other thing is to set a swimming pool in my terrace. I came across a stall where they help to build swimming pools. And they said setting a pool in terrace is feasible. Again new goal is to set a swimming pool in my terrace within a year.

For now these are the only things which have been in my long list of goals and I think I must work hard & smart to achieve these goals.

Sleepy & Enjoyable Sunday

It has been long that I slept like a mad guy. Last week I was enjoying researching about Internet Marketing & Offline marketing and I had to work till late hours. So I was deprived of good sleep the whole week.

Yesterday I didn’t have any calls from friends to party and after visiting CEO LifeStyle’09 I straight went to my home & after having brief calls with friends I immediately crashed to bed by around 11.30 in the night and got up only by 4.30 evening the next day. Nothing can compensate for a undisturbed sleep and again I must thank my friends for not disturbing me for week end outings.

Then I got a call from Balaji by 4:30 which was the wakeup call and also I didn’t want to sleep any longer. Also it has been a long time since I’ve been with Balaji. I always enjoyed hanging around with Balaji as we shared common thoughts. But since he is engaged I didn’t want to take much of his time and I stopped calling him out.

Since he called me and asked if we can go out for a movie? I accepted the invitation without thinking a second. So we both were hungry and we drove to mayajaal and booked tickets for Rocket Singh & went for dinner. For the first time I can say I have had a delicious food at mayajaal food court.

I & Balaji spoke about multiple things that happened in between our previous meeting. So, none of the topic was discussed in detail.

Then we watched a wonderful movie Rocket Singh and returned back again discussing multiple things.

Then once reaching our home we bid adieu each other as we enjoyed the day and also went out after a long time.
