Pyar Impossible

Yesterday i went to watch the movie Pyar Impossible. Crux is how a geekish nerd falls for a Hot babe in his college and who doesn’t express his love for her. Later after seven years how he meets her again and wins over her.

I can draw lot of parallels on why i like the movie;

  • First I never had guts to express my love or liking to any girl. Thought i was neither nerd nor a geek I can relate myself to the character otherwise.
  • I love fathers who raise their kids as friend.
  • How Hero fights back with a guy who has cheated him. Same has happened to me 2 years back.
  • How he gets reunited with his love after seven years.

I’m not a great fan on Uday Chopra. Infact i hate him right from his first movie Mobhathein also i didn’t like him in Dhoom even he did a cool guys character.

But this movie the role has perfectly fit him & also i heard it was his own story. This is the first movie where he inspired me personally. Let see how he is going to make it in long run.

I watched the movie for Piggy Chops and she is Hot as usual & she is the sole lead actor in the movie.

When i saw in Rediff ratings that movie had poor opening. It is sad to see a good movie failing in BO.

Sherlock Homes Experience

It has been more than a decade since i’ve read about Sherlock Homes. Since i was not interested in studies I use to mug the stories instead of enjoying it. Yesterday my friend KaviRaj called invited me to the movie Sherlock Homes.

Other than the name i didn’t remember any of the story or character name other than Sherlock Homes.

Since Inox & Satyam got full we had to content with Devi. Devi has been my favorite theatre once but i stopped watching movie there for almost 7 years. Owners have given a external facelift to the theatre. But seating were very small & was totally uncomfortable.

While watching the movie i came to know about Kavi’s interest for readings. He was telling a lots of Story Names, Author Names which i was totally unaware of. He gave lots of insights about Sherlock Homes. He is someone unique & i’ve never met someone like him before.

Also the whole theatre must be Sherlock Homes freaks. While Kavi was narrating story to me other started shouting that we are disturbing them.

Over all it was a different experience and also the movie was really class. Narration was like how it was done in Inglorious Bastards. But later i came to know that original tale also would be written in same style.

Now i’m eager to read more tales and again i feel it is all your surroundings that matters. When you have a friend with great passion his passion will take us a long way. Like wise if i had Kavi as my friend in school days. I’ve have excelled in reading books & fairy tales at a young age.

3 Idiots must be a wrong name

Yesterday 3 idiots from Chennai went to watch the movie 3 idiots & I can say we were real idiots. I don’t know how come a person like Amir & Madhavan be called idiots as they showed class in their acting as well as they were not idiots in the movie as well.

I’m must say this movie will find a place in my all time favorite list. It is nice to see how film makers are taking reality by showing things which were our own experience.

I can very much relate my life with that of R.Madhavan in the movie I was not interested in studies but I wanted to be a Don or Sportsperson. I was an athlete & a football player and I represented zonal. Owing to my poor performance in my academics my parents didn’t permit to play and I had to succumb to my parents. I can accept no parent want their kids to be donJ.

Then same happened when I wanted ventured into entrepreneurship. But this time I went bravely to my parents and spoke my heart.

Coming back to the movie it was a great mix of motivation, fun, humor, emotion & music. I must say Amir Khan is taking Indian cinemas to new dimensions and no wonder the movie her grossed 120 crore in 4 days.

Also we must give due credits to rest of the cast as i see no one has done a mediocre performance.

I wish the movie to be more successful.

With Puneet Rajmumar

Last week i had been to Taj Fishermans Cove & happened to meet Puneet Rajmumar.

Why I Love Inglorious Bastards

Before getting to explain why i like Inglorious Bastards. Let me confess why I watched the movie;

  • First because it was directed by Quentin Tarantino
  • Second for Brad Pitt
  • Third for Melanie Laurent
  • Fourth I Love Jews

Now coming to the movie I can say there is none other to compete Quentin when it comes to narration. The movie has different chapters and it is all well aligned & tried very well in the climax.

Second best aspect in the movie is its Sound Track. There were several chapters and all the chapters had different background score. I particularly loved the background score for the climax.

Third is the performance of the artist. Though I’m a fan of Brad Pitt & he has done his role exceedingly well i must frankly confess that Christoph Waltz has carried away the show with his best performance.

Now how i can stop thinking about Melanie Laurent. I love her performance in the climax where she falls to a German after shooting him. She had expressed fear, arrogance, romance, charm everything i must say she is a beauty angel blessed with great talent. I wish i meet her sometime in my life time.

Inglorious Bastards is on the top 10 hit Hollywood movies list for the year 2009 in India.

Vetaikaran Sucks

I don’t know what is happening to Vijay these days. His latest release Vetaikaran Sucks big time. I use to get surprised how someone without any personality of ability to act in his early days can make it this big (Kudos to his parents).

I can say there was nothing right with Vetaikaran. There is a big list to say sucking things;

  • The movie looks like Telegu movies of the 90’s.
  • Heroin is added just for the heck of it.
  • Scenes are too dramatic.
  • No continuity.
  • Villians getup looks funny and they end up being comedians.
  • Vijay using alcohol and lighter to kill a Villan peaks the comedy.
  • Heroism beyond acceptance.
  • Costumes & Hero’s getup takes back to late 80’s Ramarajan times.
  • Comedy scenes end up as pain in the neck. Hero & serious scenes fills the Gap left by comedians.

We can add more to the list but I don’t want to take that much pain to recollect the entire movie and put myself in to a bad position.

In spite of all these minuses there is couple of positives like;

  • Anuksha Shetty.
  • Vijay Antony’s music.

Rocket Singh Review

Rocket Singh: Salesman of the year simply rocks. I really loved the movie as I can draw lots of parallels to the movie and my life.

I don’t have words to describe the acting skills of Ranbir Kapoor and I’m becoming his fan. He has shown so much maturity and versatility in his acting. I think he has given 3 successful movies in this year alone. And I’m sure this kid is to travel a long way in his career.

Talking about the director Shimit Amin we have to say he has given yet another spectacular movie after Ab Tak Chappan & Chak De! India and I’ve loved watching both the movies. Now this guy has joined my favorite directors list and will watch all the movies which come from him.

I must say it is a low budget movie, has very realistic scenes and duly supported by casts.

Here is the Plot (Courtesy: Wikipedia)

Harpreet Singh Bedi (Ranbir Kapoor) is an aspiring salesman working in a computer firm called AYS (At Your Service). His boss insults and sidelines him when his refusal to bribe a customer costs the company dear. Boss’s anger results in extra workload for Harpreet’s colleagues and they vent their frustration by throwing paper rockets at him at work.

Koena (Gauhar Khan), another dissatisfied employee, gives him a sales opening. Soon Harpreet is running a parallel business in the name of Rocket Sales Corporation with the help of other dissatisfied employees and resources of the company. He has pangs of conscience about misusing the company’s facilities, and once decides to tell all to the boss, but drops the idea when the boss insults him severely.

Rocket Sales Corporation is soon doing well with Harpreet, Koena, Chhote Lal Mishra the office peon and Giri the service engineer. They are discovered by the sales manager Nitin Rathore, but he too joins them. Rocket sales Corporation starts doing well enough to make a serious dent into sales of AYS.

Puri, the boss at AYS, finds out the identity of the people at Rocket Sales Corporation and files a police case against them. Harpreet agrees to sell his business to AYS as a deal to drop the charges. Puri is pleased to acquire the successful rival business, but he soon learns that he can’t match the service and quality Harpreet’s team was giving to the customers. One by one, customers of Rocket Sales Corporation desert AYS.

In the final denouement Puri has a change of heart and accepts defeat. Harpreet and his friends get their business back. Along the way love blossoms between Harpreet and Sherena, who happened to be his first customer.

I must say this is a must watch movie.

Happy Birthday Thalaiva!!

I’ve grown like most of the folks in Tamil Nadu by admiring our idol Super Star Rajini Kanth. We call him Thalaiva (Leader) and all his movies have been super hits.

Rajini is known for his;

  • Mass fan following in TN & many parts of the globe.
  • He brought the cult of delivering Punch Dialogue.
  • He is known for his quick reflex in movements.
  • He brought the Style cult into Tamil cinema.
  • He is known for showing unbelievable / unrealistic stunts or actions into Tamil cinema & yet it is been accepted by audience.
  • He brought in Hero based comedy into Tamil cinema (which is one of the reasons for his success).

These are some of his movies which I admire;

  • 6’il Irundhu 60’vadhu Varai
  • Mullum Malarum
  • 16’ru Vayadhinilae
  • Murattu Kalai
  • Thillu Mullu
  • Dhalapathi
  • Basha
  • Muthu

There are more movies I like but these are some of my favorites of him.

To talk about this gentleman we have to tell him Simple, Soft, Polite in spite of being such a big Success Story. He is a Rag to Rich story and all aspiring youths can take cues from the journey of this man.

Acquisitions we have against our icon are;

  • Not entering politics.
  • Always degrading him while praising someone.
  • Going to Himalayas ignoring his Fans.
  • Not being stable in his decisions.

Even we are all upset on the above list of things. We still love him and admire him to the core.

Today our icon is celebrating his 60th birthday. Thought he gets old by age he is still young by heart.

On this occasion I wish our Thalaivar Rajini Kanth a Happy Birthday on behalf of all his Fans.

Long Live Rajini. So, that he can give us more movies.

Kandein Kadalai Review

Day-before-Yesterday I went to watch Kandein Kadalai starring Bharath & Tamanaah Bhatia. A remake of my favorite movie Jab We Met. This time I wanted to review the movie and about the performance of its cast because for many reasons like my favorite Hero, Heroine & remake of my favorite movie and things fell way short of my expectation in all three aspects. Let me start reviewing the three aspects I wanted to talk about;

  1. Bharath: I’ve seen this kid right from his first movie Boys. He really inspired me with his acting in Chellamae, Kadhal, Emtan Magan. He has no links with cinema and has come to this level with his own efforts and talent. Even his bad movies I convinced myself that he didn’t choose the movie because of lack of experience nor did it for survival. But in this movie I was upset because his acting was very bad. I felt his expression was not as natural as him. I don’t know if he tried to imitate Shaid Kapoor? Even then he has not done justice in mimicking the original role. I think Bharat’s core competency is his acting and dancing talent in that loosing one talent is losing 50% of chance for a long term success. I wish he does a quick self-analysis and rectify his mistake and fall back to track.
  2. Tamanaah: She is soon becoming heartthrob of Tamil Nadu youth. Guys sitting next to me were cheering Tamanaah’s intro than Bharath’s. One guy was telling enna colouru? (How fair she is). She has a long way to go and wish she fills the gap left by Simran, Jothika & Trisha. But in this movie she has literally imitated Kareena Kapoor. She has missed an opportunity to prove her individuality in acting. But compared with Bharath what Tamanaah did was ok as she did the mimicking better. I wish she doesn’t do more remakes in future to make her career more successful.
  3. The Movie: I think director is a confused person. He has not got the best from a Hero who has good acting skills. Also with the movie he has literally copied the costumes, settings and everything from the original. Also a separate track to Santhanam for more comedy is Ok.

Over all I can say a remake of a successful movie must be delivered better. This movie lacks in more than one aspect. But it can be watched once as it is not that boring.

Unnaiya Kalyanam Pannikiren

Today I was watching my long time favorite movie Unnai Yae Kalyanam Pannikuren (I’ll Marry You) starring Nagarjun & Tabu and directed by Krishna Vamsi. It is a dubbed version of Telegu movie Ninne Pelladutha.

This movie got released hen I finished my schooling and I watched it because I’m a great fan of Tabu then. Also the movie was full of fun as movie itself was comical and the dubbing made it even funnier.

The plot was not very new for Tollyhood or for Kollyhood but the screen made the movie more interesting and it is one of the handfuls of dubbed movie that was a hit in Tamil.

It is a simple Romeo & Juliet tale which ends with a happy note.

Today watching that movie took me back to school days and really I’m unable to believe it is been 12 years since this movie got released. It is hard to believe that Tabu has got old.

Now I think I must collect DVD’s of all my favorite movies and I must but this one immediately so that I wont forget it.
