Cogzidel Technologies Office Warming Experience


We always learn from past mistakes. We took lot of lessons from Office Warming Experience of CCS which happened by September’09. So this is how it happened and how we were tangled into a new mess;

  • Kept all the Pooja things in office the previous evening.
  • Kept a key with me as last time we all reached office and we had to wait for a person to come and open the office and it got delayed.
  • The morning woke up took my bath and went to office as second person by 4.25 AM following the priest who came by 4 AM.
  • To our surprise there was a grill gate for which i didn’t have the keys.
  • Had to call the responsible person and falling prey to my parents piece of mind.
  • Had to hammer and break the lock.
  • Then things started after a delay of one hour.
  • Then folks like Kannan, Bala, Vimala & Boopathi joined.

Overall what ever things we learn from experience there are always new things that happens unexpected. Finally everything went fine and we started operations of Cogzidel Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Chennai.

Stated with high energy from the temple city of Madurai. Cogzidel Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has accomplished a milestone in its journey to glory. Here are some of the synopsis for CT;

  • Developed 2 Open-source products RBS & Beatz with more than 50,000 downloads till date.
  • Developed Low cost specialty template selling website CogzidelTemplates.Com with more than 1,00,000/- downloads of free and low cost templates.
  • Benefitted by low overheads in a Tier II city and passed the benefit to the customers.
  • Inducted Mr.Kannan as director and into the core team.
  • Served more than 400 customers in a short span of 18 months.
  • Today we are into expansion spree and we have inaugurated our Chennai office with 30 seats.

I’d like to thank all the clients, all present and past employees, vendors and all stake holders who have contributed to this success. I wish to get same support from all the Cogzians to reach more milestone in future and reach great heights.

Bureaucrats Biggest Hassle for Business


Interference of Bureaucrats over businesses in India is a growing concern. There is not a proper forum to condemn their arrogance & ill-treatment. There are several instances where in we are affected because of bureaucrats.

Two days back one of our employee has put in his papers. He boldly says that he have put fake experience and has got a job in another company. Not only he has broken his bond he is also not prepared to give one month notice which he agreed while signing his agreement with the company.

When the HR team conveyed things seriously to him, there was a call from Labour Commissioner & Madurai north zone Labour Inspector asking to relieve the person smoothly. When the HR told them about company policy the officers has said that they have helped break several bonds & notice period with TVS group.

They repeatedly called HR and has literally blackmailed him asking if they had to come in person. This is all because the mother of the candidate is also a Labour Inspector. Now Labour officers have intruded unnecessarily into a matter which is totally unnecessary to them.

I don’t know when politicians talk about promoting entrepreneurism in the society. How can that be achieved with unnecessary influence from Bureaucrats which is totally not their mistake.

Most of the company have to live with their shit fearing unnecessary harassment by the officials. We could have taken legal action against the candidate and the concerned officials. But  it will be like throwing a stone in a piece of shit it makes the entire area stink. So, we have left it for now.

Since i didn’t take it legally and teach such people a lesson i thought i can at-least write this blog and reduce my anger.

Dear Cogzians,

I am very much delighted to make this announcement. Yes! Cogzidel Technologies, one year and 4 months old baby is now growing and prepared to take a next step !!

Guess what !! One year and 4 months baby since it babyhood nourished by mother(Madurai development center) , now going to make an attempt to start walking.

Still any Guess !! Ok. Let me have the proud to break the ice.

Next step for Cogzidel Technologies – Starting second development center in Chennai.

We are starting our Chennai Development Center at Admbakkam ( Near Chennai International Airport – Hoping we will have busy schedule to fly often J) from 22nd Jan 2010.

This dream would have not come true but it happens only b’cos of you Cogzian. I am thanking individually every Cogzian.

We are just now making a small step forward and we have long journey to do, we as Cogzian have the commitment to make this organization as one of the best in the industry. We as team can rock anything in this world.

Believe it and Let us all fuel our energy  for the future to grow stronger and stronger, individually as well as a team.

Let us blow our bells and whistles to warmly welcome the new development center.

New Sales Initiative for CCS


Last couple of weeks has been aggressive in creating a Strategy for improving the Sales for CCS. So what are we doing for last couple of days? 

  • Revamping Cogzidel.In Layout & a Slight change in Design
  • Rewriting content for Cogzidel.In
  • Moving from our own framework to Joomla
  • Aggressively addling links in Directories
  • Aggressively posting press release about CCS.
  • Aggressively increasing networks in Linkedin, Twitter, PeerPower & Facebook 

All the above things are online initiatives. These are some offline initiatives; 

  • Distributing Broachers to companies is Complex’s.
  • Visiting companies directly after getting lead / link from friends.
  • Planning to buy corporate gifts and planning to meet new prospective clients, client who have given good business & client who have not turned after enquiry.
  • Planning to take telephone yellow pages and call all the companies and ask them if they have any need. 

We do all these with the help of two folks Senthil Kumar & Suresh who are in our incubation labs. They spare a quality time for CCS Sales other than working on their new startup. 

Now it is my responsibility to think more innovatively and document things that click so that it can be passed to my successor.

Wired Frames Saves Time & Money


Normally we create wired frames before we start working on a website design so that a client can foresee the skeleton view of his Web site layout.

What is a Wired Frame? 

A wired frame is a pictorial representation of a WebSite Design in a skeleton format. 

What tools are used to create a Wired Frame? 

Axure RP, Justinmind Prototyper, OverSite, ProtoShare, Adobe Fireworks, Adobe Flash Catalyst and iRise. 

So, what we do at Cogzidel is we develop a wireframe design collecting information from the client and client can change the layout if it is not up to his expectation. 

Once the Wired frame is approved we will then continue with the site design.

Today morning I placed a request for a change in CCS site design & the design team approached me and collected my inputs and they have sent me wired frame for index page & inner page.

I was happy with the layout other than the Solutions block and I’ve asked to remove the solutions block. Now we know how the Index page layout looks like;

I was not happy with the way inner page layout looks. It looks as a mimic of index page and I’ve requested for a complete rework. Asking my designers to put some thought and show some difference.

Now since this is a wire frame we didn’t loose much time. If we had shown a designed sample then the time wastage would have been much higher.

CCS has opened its wings on Incubation Services


Yes officially we about to Incubate 2 companies which are yet to be named. Businesses of those two companies are; 

  • Newsletter Management Services
  • HR Recruitment Consultancy Firm 

Both the companies are founded a team of two young & energetic entrepreneurs each. Both of them are confident on the opportunity their respective model offers. 

Now CCS will help these companies to Bootstrap where in we are; 

  • Offering space in our office.
  • Managing Support functions.
  • Enlightening them on business functions.
  • Sharing then resource likes Internet, Job Portal Account etc.
  • Sharing their services with our clients where in we help then to develop synergies.
  • Exposing them to our Vendors as they can exploit the benefit we gain and from economies of scale. Eg: Both companies together needs 4 notebooks and they can expect discounts as they are buying 4 in one shot. 

These are our first two companies from our Incubation Labs which is operating under my direct supervision and will document all the learning’s from this initial experience. 

Hope these two companies will have an identity (Company Name) in a day or two and will keep you all posted once they are out with their Name, Logo & Tag Line. I wish this small beginning goes a long way and creates history.

CCS folks use unusual methods to crack solutions for problems


One of the touch / challenging thing in Business in facing uncertainities. But that becomes cherishing opportunity for aggressive people.

An entrepreneur would love to work with such aggressive people. Today i’m proud to be associate with such people.

I want to quote a particular challenging case where we signed a contract with a client for managing their monthly Accounting.

We signed the deal assuming, that client will be using Tally as their accounting tool. To our surprise client was using QuickBook. My peers didn’t have any clue about this new tool.

Instantly my CFO Mr.Bala Murugan and his associate Ms.Vimala had a meet to work out a solution and their unusual way of thinking startled me.

They used Youtube to see if there is any tutorial and it clicked. With the help of this video tutorial we finished the task with ease.

Above case points how they applied their mind and how they extracted the power of social mediums which is available for free.

I always admire such people. And my peers made me proud to say that I’m a part of their team.

Rivers that crosses rough and steep rock will generate electricity.

This is what i learned from my peers.

Google Maps Business Directory Listing Helps CCS


I was exploring thought Google Maps a couple of days back where I was plotting Cogzidel Consultancy Services office address with Google Maps. There I came across this link Add Business Listing and I added Cogzidel immediately. 

In recent times I got a series of leads from Google. Then I got puzzled as we have a low page rank and i was not getting many results for many core keywords. 

Then one day I happened to search “Accounting Services” where in I came across this result in Google search.

I was hacking with Google Maps long time back and it showed results (You can see Cogzidel Consultancy Services under maps results). Immediately I optimized for many keywords and it immediately showed in result.

Now I can see another option to get to the top page other than SEO & Adwords route. I recommend everyone to mark your business with Google Maps.

Today I marked my company with Yahoo Local Listing too.
